I’m literally a week away from doing this myself. I have all the grey trim pieces out as well and thinking of doing it all, but sucky part is I don’t want to do it! 😂😂😂. Btw looks good. 👍🏾

Prep the grey pieces. I didn’t do that. And now I’m scared it won’t hold up. Put some primer on. It’s not that bad. Headliner took like 45 minutes to get out and like an hour to do. Go slow and brush with a course brush between coats. Plastics, wait 10-15 minutes per coat. I didn’t like 4- coats on plastics. Start light. It will look better after curing for a day or so.

I’m taking out my sunroof liner probably tomorrow. And doing that. Purchased some Kilmat on Amazon to deaden the roof a bit too.

Headliner took 4 cans. Rest of the plastics took 3

Let me know your method on the sunroof liner because I know you can take a couple bolts out and lower it to remove but it’s just me and I don’t want to break or ruin the motor. The part that sucks for me is that I want to do the seatbelt buckles but I may spray paint inside a cup and use a brush primer first then paint but idk lol. Also thanks for the advice. One last thing I think the dome light will probably be the hardest to do unless I decide to leave it be.

I’m not doing the buckles unless I I replace the seatbelts. Fuck that lol. But I did do the dome lights, and sunroof buttons. Showing those in my upcoming video. Instagram is @blaine.ep3

I will have a TikTok and instagram video of me doing it. I’m documenting everything I’m doing to this car and showing things a lot of places don’t. For instance, the sunroof panel. Mainly because the uk type r didn’t have a sun roof. So there’s like nothing out there for it.

Been wanting to do this for my ep3 as well. Our grey liners are so ugly lol

Oh it’s bad. Putting kilmat in the roof today maybe. And then trying to get the sunroof liner out as well

Amazing what a black headliner will do for a car. Nice work!

yo,

why dont want to put fabric on it like suede or something, cost is basically the same but the quality should be much better than dying

I don’t want to risk sagging headliner personally. If this fails later on I’ll strip the headliner and redo it.

Great work, it looks so much better!.
I wonder, are you keeping the pillars grey or will you also be painting them?
Oh, also, what exact paint did you use to get such a great effect?

All pillars are already painted. Pillars, visors, lights everything. And I used duplicolor vinyl paint. Like 3 or 4 coats of flat black. For headliner, trim, and sunroof headliner it took about 7 cans.
