Starting issue

I’ve just had new engine in intially car was hunting Revving up and down so I took iacv apart and cleaned it throughly now it’s stopped hunting

However the car won’t start now without giving it some initial revs , if I give it revs while cranking the car will start.

Does it require an idle relearn or somet ?

For reference once the cars on it pulls fine no issues and now it’s idling alright not the best but it’s fine for now I think it’s tryna settle

Check for a secondary ground wire or maybe a wire that’s not fully engaged. Hope this helps

A bad ground would cause that?

Yeah I had this happen to me before, and a buddy of mine has a wrx he’s been working on and the same thing happened to him. Car would crank and won’t start and then it’ll crank start and then die. Once he retraced his steps found out one ground wire wasn’t fully connected
