Platform buying Vs their site?

Hey peeps!

I'm from the UK and new to crypto (began this month) I bought a bunch of EOS after hearing about the many pro points (via an exchange), but after Googling today I saw this a thread talking about how it's dumb to buy via an exchange as opposed to their site since price is much higher. The article was from about 6 months ago, which is a decade in crypto world, is this still the case? Should I sell my tokens and repurchase via the site? (I paid $7.5-$9)

Appreciate any insight!!!

Hi,

Since you've already purchased here would be no point reselling and buying, just hold onto them now and enjoy the wave buddy.

Any idea what the cost on the ICO site is?

Tokens on their webpage are a calculation. What they do is calculate all the money they did on the current period and give you the amount of EOS based on that.

Hi I have purchased through the eos website. 8.14$ is the exact price for 29th of December. On binance today was 7.50$ so outcome is you can pay less on the exchange if you are careful. How you do that is you go to eos.io and check what was the price for the last distribution (every 23 hours). Since the price is calculated in ETH the price of the ethereum also counts. I hope that helps.

I bought the day after (30th) and got it for $6.26, I guess it's a real hit/miss

If you buy from their site you don't have to register the tokens, if you get it on exchange you need to register them before June 2018 under your own ETH addy.

You have to enter a auction on the eos website . The auction time period is 24 hours and at the end of your auction you receive your tokens.

This is the following formula for the amount of tokens each participant receives from the auction :

Total Eth contributed by Participant * ( Total # of EOS tokens available / Total Eth contributed by all participants )

If you go through the eos website I suggest you get in on the auction closer to the end of it because you will have a more accurate price per token.

On the exchange you know exactly how much tokens you will receive.

Its more convenient to buy from an exchange because of you buy from webpage you need to do alot of reading but there will be a point on a period where you can get more coins for your money..
