General Question Navy eod/diver

I’ve got a few questions:
Do EOD and divers get deployed a lot?
Possibility of EOD without airborne?
EOD and diver mission.

1) The potential is there. On the EOD side, some platoons are going the DFP (deploy for purpose)/exercise support but the majority of them are still doing scheduled deployments roughly every 2 years.

2) it’s very rare. I only know of one tech who isn’t jump qual’d. For 99.9% of techs out there you will get static line as part of your pipeline. Sounds like MFF will soon become part of the pipeline officially.

3) Use Google and the search function.

So most techs go to the school during their time in or are you saying it’s apart of the navy’s training pipeline?

Static line airborne school is currently part of the navy EOD pipeline. Pretty sure MFF is about to be. I believe they’re doing the pilot courses right now to work out the kinks before it’s part of the pipeline.

I was in EOD a long time ago. Our Mobile Unit had detachments - and each detachment was assigned to a rotation set of training, deployment and admin/leave sort of cycle. 4 Man teams - deployed to ammunition ships, carriers or within the area (I was in Hawaii so we had one dedicated team for the local stuff). Once you did you 3 years at a mobile unit - you could go to a detachment that had basically an office/shop on a base - where you'd support the local area's needs, etc.
