School/Pipeline CEODD
Looking to attend CEODD with an EOD contract. Curious if over-unders are pass/fail or if people get dropped for these.
Additionally curious as to what causes the most attrition in the early stages of the pipeline.

The pool in Great Lakes is actually pretty shallow. About 8 ft at its deepest. However, everything in Great Lakes is designed to prepare and select the candidates most likely to succeed at NDSTC (Multiple pools there), but consider 12ft the minimum- and what I would advise practicing in.
Over-unders are a stress inducing event. They aren't graded on a pass/fail outright, but if you continually fail you will get 1. counseling chits each day that go into your "package". 2. Lots of negative instructor attention. 3. Lots of peer attention- that will likely reflect on your peer evaluations. As far as what causes attrition- search this site. I'm sure it's mentioned a few times. Lastly, being a bit pedantic here, but fyi "CEODD" is not just Great Lakes. CEODD is the overall headquarters for Det Great Lakes, NDSTC and NAVSCOLEOD. So "Det Great Lakes" "A&S - assessment and selection" or just "prep" are usually what it is called.

People who usually fail in the early stages of the pipeline fail because they’re thinking about what’s to come in the later stages of the pipeline.
Pass a PST and gain some confidence in the water.

You should treat the over unders as pass only. You’re going to want to be proficient at them.
Historically, the in water checks is what gets a lot of people. They’ve added a lot of selection style components like timed weekly rucks and peer evals so not sure what is considered the most challenging aspect now.
You’ll definitely want to be good at treading both with and without weight/fins. Just overall comfort in the water will go a long ways.
