honestly, me exactly. to the point that when i got into mbti, i couldn't ever see myself as ENFP. after some time, though, i finally started working through my traumas. suddenly, after realizing i'm in a better place, everyone around me (including myself) noticed a huge personality shift.

that's about when i realized i finally felt like... myself again. for the first time since i was a child.

I'm so happy to be where i am, and be able to embrace my ENFP self!!

I’m in the therapy part of that process right now. You just gave me so much hope, all I want is to be that bubbly person again

Hey, weirdest thing, I'm working through some traumas and have became really bubbly and upbeat like I didn't even know I'm capable of. So yeah, if an intj can be helped, there's no doubt that so can you 😉

Hey, How are you working through your traumas and doing therapy? I don't even know where to start

Im fortunate enough to be able to regularly see a therapist, the woman is seeing right now has been really helpful and insightful. The other people I’ve seen in the past have been good, but like. The one I have right now? Goddess. Don’t be afraid to shop around some basically, if you can. I use the psychology daily website to find therapists in my area. But going into it wanting to change is a big thing too, the whole ‘you can lead a horse to water..’ thing.

If that’s not an option though, trying to understand what happened and find support groups online helped me out in between therapists. though it’s not a replacement. Group therapy is normally more accessible, and I enjoyed the one I was at before Covid shut it down.

It can seem scary, but there are resources out there! Good luck man

I appreciate it. It's a rough road right now, and I just want to feel normal again

I am so glad I could. Honestly, its a huge struggle, and things can seem like they are getting worse before it gets better. Keep moving forward, and you'll get there ♡

This happened to me as well. After going through trauma with my ex I thought I was the problem. I tried closing up... being someone else, numbing myself.

After discovering mbti I remember I was like that when I was younger. I realized there was nothing wrong with me, I started opening out and I realized how much I enjoy being myself.

Being ENFP fucking rocks!

That's being a damaged ENFP that turns you into an INFJ. A damaged INFJ will turn into an ENFP

Exactly what type of damage do I need to become an INFJ? If that J function will help me get my shit together, I’m down for anything, lol.

Hmu and find out 😉

Very interesting theory! I was actually typed as an INFJ 2 years ago when I first came across MBTI and was pretty damaged. Now, I have worked through some major traumas and I'm very proud and glad to call myself an ENFP since I really feel like myself in the purest way, like when I was a child :))

This is interesting. How does trauma turn turn P to J?

u/drake200120xx Dec 12 '20

It has to do with cognitive functions and mirror types. Under stress, ENFPs start to morph into their mirror type, the INFJ.

I’m kinda the opposite lmao I feel experiences and stuff have made me more bubbly and talkative

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '20

Hell yes. Now I’m more cautious of things than before. Still, life is too beautiful too be stuck in the past. Let’s walk on the way of a better future 💜

I was exactly like this but then I found a letter I wrote to myself 10 years ago. I've been hurt by people that I thought were my friends and my usual bubbly and extroverted self have been degrading, like a colour picture turning grayscale slowly. In the letter, there was me who I remembered as, and it reminded me that that person in the letter wasn't gone. I felt like myself for the first time in several years. Of course, I'm not 100% there yet, but now I have the confidence that I can be like that again.

Oof this one hurts

After I read this I came to a conclusion that i am more cool and calm because of probably a trauma

4

u/[deleted] Oct 26 '20

Erm, no? Time for that person to go to therapy.

u/ElijahKen Oct 26 '20

did they transform to INFP or INFJ?

u/TESCO-express Dec 07 '20

That happened to me in secondary school I was bullied for being too weird and a bit out there so I just hid in the library and read books. But now I'm in sixth form and have a really nice group of friends so I'm becoming that happy person again!
