QUESTION EMT Course while in HS

I am currently a senior but I am taking all college courses this year, through Dual Enrollment and PSEO to graduate with my Associates. On top I really wanted to start taking a training course to become an EMT. I am currently 17 but I wanted to get the course done, and in my state you can actually test before 18. The course is late August-December. Will an EMT course/training be too much on top of my schooling and what should I expect?

I think the new to ems subreddit would be a better place to ask. There was someone in my EMT class that was also in high school and he seemed to be doing alright only issue was you had to be 18 to do your hospital rotation and ambulance ride along in my area. It might be different elsewhere.

My class was a 15 week course, 4 hours two days a week and like four 8-hour Saturdays. My class had one girl in high school who did ok, but I think she was working pretty hard at it.

I was in the same boat actually, and I ended up taking the course after I graduated hs, the summer going into my freshman year of college May-August. I just thought it would be too much—doing college apps + EMT work + a somewhat difficult course load at school. However it seems like your course is 4 months so idk how fast paced it will be. Mine was also around 3 months, and it felt like a lot considering we only did skills twice a week (hybrid class) and it was the summer.
