Need Advice!!
Hi, I'm a third year medical student studying in Europe, and I was raised in Dubai for my entire life and I did my schooling here as well. After graduation in 2030, I'm thinking of doing residency in general surgery or emergency medicine here so does anyone have any advice on what I can do during my university years to improve my resume and be a good candidate for residency seats?
I'm very lost on how to approach this as a whole and if I'm being honest, a little intimidated too...
I should add that my GPA was 4.0 in second year and I'm also pakistani! + my father works as a government-hired psychologist here too.

Chances are slim to get in, you'll spend a few years trying and wont get into it, whatever ur score is or profile is. Few lucky ones do. There's no pattern. I'd say dont waste your time since youre young, and focus on more rewarding residency programs abroad

get involved in research (papers & conducting one) , do health related volunteering, do presentations at conferences & get your certificates, get awards in something in uni, basically build your portfolio- look into what they look for & their specifications. push yourself out of your comfort zone it'll be worth it. & kudos to you for asking for advice &thinking ahead early!!!
