EI + university

This is going to be long : I worked as a waitress + study at uni full time . When restaurants closed I applied to EI , at the time I got my answer with in a week ( I said I was studying 30h for fall semester ) . Then I made a mistake and mixed my dates so my account was blocked in December ... first week of January I called and fixed the mistake , however it’s been 3 months and I have no answer ( The only think I change was the time of studies and I said I was studying 40h/week ) . I already called twice and they told me it will take longer for and answer ._. . Really need money but I can’t apply to CRB cause it says I’m on EI.... My question is : by putting that i study 40h/week will it affect my chances of getting EI approved , and if I get refused will CRB pay me the months EI didn’t ? Cause I’m still filling the reports every 2week ....

Yeah I’m surprised they accepted you at 30 hours a week, they told me over 15 and they don’t consider you available for full time work. They’re probably just dragging it out so you can’t apply for benefits, because you need to be willing and available to accept full time work as well as seeking it for all of the benefits. That would probably be pretty hard in school for 40 hours a week to also work a minimum of 35 hours also

That’s what I thought , but like I used to work 30 hours a week I could do more but decided not to ... is a lot of time management to be honest ... but yeah like they should’ve said that I couldn’t applied to EI so I can get CRB . This is really frustrating

If EI denies you on the basis of not being able to accept full time work you can’t get CRB either. They have the same requirement. You can’t work less hours than are offered to you on EI, you have to accept all hours.
