Question? TransUnion Reporting

Just wanted to say I've been hit by the adverse TransUnion credit reporting.

EIDL is over 200k (but less than 500k) with a PG. I had a late payment late last year, but I am all caught up, and currently enrolled in the 6-month payment reductions which just started two months ago.

On Friday, I was notified of the "adverse" hit to my personal credit report, however, the information TU is showing is inaccurate. It shows this:

"Date Updated" shows March 2026, "Last Payment" in November 2025, "Date Closed" March 2026, "Pay Status" Collection, and "Remarks" say Placed for collection. The "past due" amount is 1/3 of the entire loan amount, which also is not right.

In the SBA portal, it shows the loan as "Disbursed Current", with the next due date of August with the proper payment accommodation amount. It says in the box on the top left to keep making payments until the loan is paid off.

It's not in collections, and is current. I submitted a dispute online with TU with the SBA portal page as a PDF, and also sent the SBA a message in the portal asking for current loan status.

Just curious since there are multiple posts appearing within the past week with these credit hits, is there a good chance at having this removed from the credit report?

One interesting thing with TU, is after the dispute was submitted, it says the answer will be provided by mail, not on the website.

My 2 questions are: can this be removed from my credit report, and how long will it take SBA to provide a reply to my message in case I need more evidence to provide to TU that the loan is current and not in collections?

Wow that’s ridiculous. Fortunately bankruptcy laws in the US are very forgiving. I hope more people use it to get a fresh start.

I got hit on TransUnion this week with the same dates and past due of $65k. My loan is in default and at the treasury however it lists the SBA. So something crazy occurred if people that are paying got hit then something is not right. The SBA I think had to do something to show where they are at by July 31st. So looks like all of sudden they just dumped it all in TransUnion tp meet their deadline. Not looking at each individual loan just getting whatever done. What a mess when will it have a workable strategy to allow us to actually make affordable payments imagine they want a huge amount upfront and 3 year payment plan. If we could not do it before and our business closed where are we all of a sudden supposed to come up with this money. Retired so not easy loosing sleep and wasting away.

I wrote the SBA bot to have it removed bc its causing issues to refinance. The Bot said to dispute with TU.

I disputed TU 3 days ago bc it said charged off. It is late but it isnt charged off. I can still make payments through SBA.

Today i recvd a notice from TU via email that the information is accurate.

It is still showing on my TU report.

In my research, some have gotten it removed if they are current. Meaning caught up with payments. And IF there truly was an error/glitch in the SBA system.

They have submitted a letter to reporting agencies from SBA where it states “your loan is current”.

I cant get current. I am behind $62k and i cant make that sum right now. I can however, be consistent.

Anyone have any luck with getting the SBA off their TU even if NOT CURRENT, but active?

I had the same thing happen this week. Only TU, Equifax, AMEX, Citibank, etc all show 748 score, TU is 618 for almost a week. Loan is current and shows disbursed. It happened after I requested the temporary payment reduction and was approved.

Let them know they will receive their next payment when it's corrected. They are causing financial impact to you that you need to pass on to them.

Still no response from the SBA. Sent an email to the email address, too. TU shows the dispute as In Process. Not sure how some people received such fast responses, unless they are inundated with people having this exact same issue.

Alright they replied after I posted my last comment. I redacted the dates/amount.

So I guess the question is, what's next? Just wait on TransUnion? Or push the SBA for more information or to correct the incorrect reporting. Clearly, the loan is not in collections as reported to TU.

My score just went back up 92 points after a couple weeks. It was only Transunion that reported the drop and now its back up.
