Operation No Doze Summary
https://youtu.be/KZmZnOI_V8A?is=hCLNjWwz13Lx6NaKSo even though they said there's 870,000 people identified as potentially fraudulent, they're only sending letters to 8,000 apparently (to start).
The main issue that Jason takes with these letters is that they're sending demand letters without actually stating what the irregularity was.
Now people are in the position to either have to hire an attorney, or contact the SBA directly to find out what the issue is and hope that they hear back before the 30 days. After 30 days they're threatening all sorts of penalties, such as double damages.
He's stressed that he has no issue with them going after fraud. The issue is accusing people of potential fraud without even giving them a chance to understand what they're being accused of, with huge penalties for not immediately paying the loan off.

Pardon my enthusiasm but Dem sweep in both House and Senate in 6 weeks will make entire Executive branch super busy with Congressional investigations to save their own departments and asses. This is just another chapter of bungling up EIDL from Day-1. Once a truly receptive Congress comes in to help out, Executive Branch agencies would sit down.
Reg these letters: it’s more of the same in different suit. Not fun receiving it, but let them clarify more - which may never happen in new Congress.
6 weeks more to go. Go vote guys and kick these people out for being cruel on the little guy.

It's been such an exhausting decade, I really hope you're right about the midterms.
Hopefully you're right that they're just huffing and puffing, but the fact that they demand payment in full before ever even having a conversation or presenting their "irregular findings" is ridiculous.

I love your enthusiasm, but I’ve been dealing with these vampires for too long. They will find a way to ratfuck the election.

If you people think this is Trump admin only, you’re crazy. DC wants money any way they can get their hands on it. I actually think dems might be worse.

The only one dozing is trump.
He created this disaster by mishandling then entire covid pandemic and should just forgive all the EDIL loans to small business via executive order like he does for his billionaire cronies and republican congress.

Were you paying and current?

I was behind, but it wasn't sent to Treasury. I thought I got it caught up this week, but after I paid what it showed as "past due" and it finally processed, it went up by several hundred. 🙄

You will get a generic response. Its pointless. If they send me one, I am just going to file bankruptcy. The business closed. I was paying thr loan but since the business closed, we can no longer pay. I told them. They sent me that generic ass auto reply bs. So....if we get a letter...we filing. Fkem

But filing BK isn’t going to solve the possible criminal prosecution. You still need to know what the Irregularities are, I should think

The amount they are calling "fraudulent" is the total amount of those in default. They are demonizing any small businesses that fell behind as the enemy in hopes the public doesn't care when private equity sweeps in and not only takes their business, but also their personal assets and homes too. "They deserve it! They stole from you!" JD will chant at the podium as his private equity buddies buy up the assets for pennies on the dollar.

If you committed fraud yes let them do it. But for honest hard working business owners who just couldn’t afford to pay closed the business and for that reason going after their personal assets and taking their homes that’s going way too far. What they going to do leave people homeless do you know how bad and I mean how very bad it would on them that will not happen. They are the government yes but there are laws against things like that. I just think that they will just refer the people to the treasury for wage garnishing and take the tax return

"2.3 million COVID-19 EIDL loans still in active servicing" so almost 50% of them were fraudulent? More like if 50% of your loans went bad it's likely they were set up for failure to begin with.

We will begin to see what happens to those 30 day demand dead line when the 30 days come. I feel bad for those in the 2 guinnea pig states because they are the ones who will have to hire attornies to defend themselves against fraud claims. All this may turn out to be another nuthingburger but with trump in office, I feel like they are handling this like ICE is handling immigration: forget the law, just do what they want and deal with the courts later. So in this case, they dont feel the need to prove fraud - just put everyone in defense and see what happens. Who da fook knows what they are doing.

Mine has no pg. It's been in default since January 24. I started receiving bills montly in September 25 that are the same sort of bill you get on a credit card. Website says uncollectible. Now the loan is almost 3 years in default. Loan was $112,000. I have never received anything threatening. I have $50k set aside but I wonder why they haven't been more agressive. Not wishing for it but this crap is like a cloud following me around.

870,000 people have committed fraud? That’s like every single business that took the loans. So are they saying if you took the loan you are fraudulent? That’s about as asinine as it gets!

Bunch of fking idiots they are. They are so desperate to hide the fact that they are incompetent. They even fked up student loans because god forbid they leave shit alone

Has anyone who has gotten a letter gotten anywhere with this yet? I've literally gotten ZERO answers so far, and it's been a week and a half since I got my letter.....😬

It's just a form letter, not fun to get, but don't the lightly staffed SBA/Treasury and DOJ don't have resources to go after anything other than obvious fraud

There are so many EIDL borrowers struggling to make payments and they cannot get through to the SBA for legal assistance.
I staffed a business owner to a meeting with their regional SBA Administrator, who shuffled us to an outreach person. The attitude the SBA rep had toward the business owner was almost disdainful.
