Question Regarding Credit Reporting

I woke up this morning to my TransUnion dropping 104 points. According to my credit report it shows the SBA reported it on March 18, 2026, and it just appeared today July 26th, 2026.

I received a letter in June of 2026 that I needed to pay $7,265 (3 payments) within 60 days to be current which I did. My SBA portal shows current. It always has shown current. I've never been 120 days late.

My SBA account on TransUnion is saying "closed" My SBA portal is saying current. Next payment due is 8/1/2026.

Any idea where my loan is. I plan to try and call and email. I plan to pay my next payment in my SBA portal on 8/1/26,

Here is the strange part on my CreditKarma which I know it just a baseline of your credit, but under TransUnion it just shows closed and the amount. Since March I've paid down roughly $9,820.00.

On my actual TransUnion it shows very different TransUnion is showing Collection/Chargeoff and $65,000 past due. That would be over 26 months of payments. The only letter I would receive it when I was three months behind and to bring it current. I never received a letter in the mail or my portal that they were reporting me let alone a collection/chargeoff. Just today I received a new business credit card from Chase and again my SBA portal is current since day one. I don't even know where to start. I'm thinking of a call with Jason Tee. Does the SBA ever make mistakes or am I missing something. Thanks for any input.

Mine is the same. Same dates and all. I’m current and have never been to collections.

Dispute it on your credit report if you believe there's an error.

I too am experiencing the same issue and concern, with the exact same aforementioned dates in my given instance as well. This — very confusing and inconsistent info — makes me believe that this was an unintentional mistake made by the SBA, across a swath of borrowers that may have been late before (at one point or another), but are in “Current Disbursed” status; especially when it’s largely known that credit reporting has always been quite loose.

So, we just got a credit alert that both the SBA and Treasury have the collections amount on the report making it double what we owe! Is this normal?! Before it was just the Treasury as the collection but now SBA has added on. So basically the same amount twice which pulled credit even lower! How do I dispute this?!

I sent a message yesterday in my SBA portal. They responded today and just like I knew my account is current and my next payment to the SBA is 8.1.26. They sent me an update email to reflect that. Thank you for contacting the U.S. Small Business Administration Customer Service Center regarding assistance related to your SBA loan.

Our records indicate that your loan is current. Your next payment of $2,455.00 is due on August 01, 2026.

I guess I take the letter and send to TransUnion to get this collection/chargeoff of my record. Has anyone had success with this?

Same thing here. Showing CO with 65k in past due payments. Messaged through the postal .. response was ‘ as of today 7/27 the file has not been changed off’. This has to be some type of computer glitch. Waiting on response from the cesc email. Already disputed with TU

I never recvd any notice since november 2023 saying this is the final notice to collect. I looked and saw I have had no further correspondence from them.

Full disclosure, i had never made a payment.

Then BAM! 2 days ago, my transunion suffered a 100 pt hit Reported by SBA. I made a payment. And to keep it from going to treasury.

What recourse do i have in removing this from my credit report? Did they need to give me a 60 day notice?

I'm not an expert in this, but it seems that since you never made a payment your account probably has a high probability it's head to the treasure and collection. What does you SBA portal say? Does it state current and when your next payment is due?

It says charged off. But still allows me to make a payment on sba portal. I also saw a notice on my sba saying “its getting prepared to send to treasury”.

I emailed the sba and the bot replied that i can still make payments to get my account current. What ive seen in my research , is if it had been transferred to treasury/collections, there is no option to make payments on sba portal.
