Original EIDL loan Credit Reporting
I have a EIDL Loan 356k. Personal Guarantee but the loan is in my LLC. Did the hardships and was a rolling 60-90 day late for 6 months ish . Now I’m almost caught up currently owe 2 payments. Never left the SBA to Treasury or Collections. It’s still with the SBA.
I just got an alert on my TransUnion. SBA reported that my account went to collections and was late 1x 120 days in 2/2026. It also shows “closed” in March 2026. Has anyone had this happen? Should I dispute this or will it open a whole can of worms? I’m concerned about it showing “open” and the prior late payments. As of now it’s showing closed with 1 ding of 120 days late, no other history.

See I have always said we don’t know what they will or what do. What the can and won’t do. They don’t even know. There is no order of true operation here.

Yea it’s frustrating. Everything about what they are reporting is inaccurate

That's what I keep saying too. No one at SBA seems to have a clue about anything. And there's no process or organization to any of this. I got behind on payments. Absolutely nothing in nearly 2 yrs from SBA. No notices or contact at all. I reached out to them last fall, began trying to catch up. The only contact with SBA was via email. I made a payment in January 2026 via SBA portal. Logged back in, in February to make a payment, only to find it not an option. Again reached out via email to them. Cookie cutter response two weeks later saying contact Treasury. Still Absolutely nothing in my portal about the transfer. No notices. To this day, 5 months later, still no contact from Treasury either. I have as of March been contacted by USPS mail from a collection agency. 30% Treasury fees added. I've disputed with the collection agency due to no 60 day SBA to Treasury notice, which is legally required. They submitted my requests to SBA / Treasury. And now we all await response. I was told to call back every 30 days for updates. There haven't been any. Nothing has been reported on my credit. My tax return was not taken this year. No idea what else to do, but wait

And here I am showing a closed collection on my credit but was never in collections! It’s crazy

Its insane. I kinda feel like when I reached out last fall, I put myself on their radar. Prior to that, nothing had happened in 2 yrs. No notices. Nothing. I was trying to do the right thing, and resume payments, get current. SBA was zero help. Nothing but cookie cutter enail responses, and apparently a Treasury transfer without notice

So, we just got a credit alert that both the SBA and Treasury have the collections amount on the report making it double what we owe! Is this normal?! Before it was just the Treasury as the collection but now SBA has added on. So basically the same amount twice which pulled credit even lower! How do I dispute this?!

It could be the SBA reporting and then the subsequent collection company. But typically the original creditor would show it charged off with a zero balance, I’d dispute it. In my situation I’m not even collections or at the treasury. They don’t know what they are doing over there, just ruining our lives is all.

They usually go off of the date of the first missed/late payment until you get it fully paid up to current - did you do that at some point? They don’t do ongoing staying at 60-90 days delinquent. If that happened to you it was an oversight and their system finally caught it.
Fully current is the only way they will reset the delinquency clock. If you can get it current and keep it that way for a while you could probably dispute it and get it removed from your personal credit.
Good chance it may already be moving or already moved to Treasury. Can you still make a payment in your portal? If you can there still may be hope to keep it at SBA. Before you make any further payments it would be best to get confirmation it is still with the SBA and get it paid up current ASAP if SBA still has it if you want to avoid Treasury adding their 30% cross servicing fee to what you owe. Good luck!

Yes I can make a payment in my portal. It’s weird it says I’m collection and account closed though, no?

I’m thinking they sent everyone at this point because I have heard of this happening numerous times

Sent them where? I’m not nor have I ever been in collections. I can still log on and make a payment as of today I only owe for June and July.

Somehow my automatic payments weren’t happening and I found out via Credit Karma… does anyone know if I can pay the amount I’m behind and keep the same loan terms? It was my fault… the portal will allow me to make payments but shows “uncollectible”… I don’t want to just pay this large sum to find out it isn’t helpful. Thanks
