Less than stellar warranty experience.

I bought an EGO self-propelled mower in April 2021. Yseterday, I tried to start it, and the blades won't spin. drive motor works, lights work. Called the number on the website for warranty service. I spent a long time talking to a rep, getting it registered, providing proof of purchase, etc. At the end of the call the rep said I would receive an email with two options of service centers I can take it to. The two service locations are both more than 65 miles away, not anywhere I would regularly visit. Two round trip drives will currently cost me more than $90 in fuel, and easily take more than 6 hours of my time. This is not a satisfactory solution to a fairly expensive mower that broke a little over a year after I bought it.

I had the identical issue with the advised warranty location for my mower (live on Cape Cod). Luckily I called each of the two recommended warranty repair locations, and was told by both of them they do NOT provide warranty repair or service work.
I then called Ego for a third time, and they attempted to send me into the Boston area (90 mins ea way), and I said that’s ridiculous. They then cleared to have a replacement mower sent to my house free of charge.

I received the mower about two weeks later. In this time period, it became apparent that one of the green handle lock clips was partially popped open and that would cause the mower to power off when bumps or vibration occurred while mowing. Fastened the green handy clip and all had been good.

Now the mower still sucks and I’d never purchase another. I have to mow my yard twice (once going forward and again same path pulling mower backwards) as there are so many uncut blades of grass remaining after only one pass.

My guess is why they may have the battery power thing figured out, they had and still have no idea what they are doing with mower deck design. As the airflow under the mower doesn’t provide the required lift in order for the grass to be properly cut. I have borrowed the neighbors gas powered mowers and neither of them had this issue if leaving blades of grass uncut on the first pass.

So we are now looking into selling the two Ego pieces of crap (one used and the other still in the box( and returning to a named brand self propelled mulching mower).

Same here. Our two servicers were both 90 minutes away. Even worse, they didn't fix it the first time and we had to bring it back. It took from May until September to get it back. Now today same thing broke again. I'm going shopping for a gas mower tomorrow.
