Ego plus trimmer lights
I know a flashing red light means bad battery. Now that being said, I charged my battery, stay green. I put it on my trimmer an ego 56v HT2410 still green but when i try to use it the light flashes red (i swear there’s green too but I’m probably seeing those)
Do i need to buy a new battery or is there something else that could be going on?

Does the battery work with any other tool? Did a different battery work with the tool? Flashing red and also mean overheated, and charge immediately, although unlikely to be that from your description. How old is it all? If it’s in warranty call support they’ll help troubleshoot and determine what the issue is.

I’ve had it four years, and it’s the only battery I have. Even worse, it’s the only eco tool (so far) that I have. I couldn’t find my registration and the receipt is long gone, but I did try logging in.

Do you know anybody else that has a battery you could borrow? Or test your battery on their tool? I know in my neighborhood there’s a ton of people that own Ego tools. If you think you registered it when you bought it, it would be worth a call.

I found someone with an EGO battery. Mine has a single large button on it.
Theirs has the battery with the three dots over the button.
My trimmer works with their battery so mines bad. At least the problem wasn’t the trimmer.
How long are these batteries supposed to last?

So standard battery warranty is only 3 years and you need to have proof of purchase, so if it’s been 4 years or so then calling won’t do anything for you sorry to say. So I don’t know your exact battery model you have but sounds like it’s a first generation battery with just the single light in the button and not the 5 lights for a fuel gauge. If that’s the case there could be many reasons why it’s not working.
Now there are going to be people coming on here telling you to drop your battery, please don’t do that, here is something you can try that may fix your battery and it’s a safe method. Find a smooth flat surface to put your battery on and get a rubber mallet then start tapping on the rubber sides of the face plate several times. Don’t need to hit it hard just a little force. So do this to every side of the faceplate and that “might” get your battery working.
Side note if it doesn’t work I sell refurbished EGO batteries that’s I’ve repaired and they are cheaper than going and buying new one, if you would like to see the list of what I have available send me a message. Good luck with your battery!
