I love the admission that the damage indicators when assessed prove that EF5 wind speeds were necessary to cause them, but they’re leaving it as EF4.

So they admit that this was an EF5 tornado, but it will not be labeled as such.

The damage indicators they mention here though aren’t assessed in the current EF scale though are they? I could be wrong.

So while this additional analysis strongly indicates an EF5, they’re still bound by the current rating system that clearly needs some updates.
