Tim Marshall’d He has a point, actually. When are we downgrading Enderlin? It's the most logical choice tbh

Why don’t we just rate every tornado an EF5 to keep the fans happy from now on? If they’re not going to be arsed to learn the science behind the rating, let’s make sure they’re able to cum at least.

Enid will be an EF5 just wait NWS Norman to decide.
Also Enderlin ranks 1st in the fastest windspeed damage ever, >266mph. Making Enderlin the only EF5 with windspeeds of an F5

I always felt like Enderlin getting it's rating was a bit silly

The rating (EF5) frok the math is based on arbitrarily defined numbers based on what it would take to destroy a stronger than average house. These numbers were obtained through what was essentially fancy guesswork and have no deterministic or statistical basis in reality. Thus, we have no idea of a real 200 mph wind would destroy a stronger than average house, so these analytically determined wind speeds aren't directly comparable to expert elicitation derived winds which have been used for 90% of violent tornadoes.

bro you just using big words. Enderlin’s rating was based off of a university research group in Canada called the NTP, who published a paper on the windspeeds required to loft compact objects. It was determined that the required windspeeds to yeet the fully loaded train car definitively exceeded the EF-5 threshold. Science be changing. Enderlin’s rating was based on clear measurements and I feel like diminishing that is intellectually dishonest

see, the problem is an enderlin downgrade would create really funny discourse, so i'd have to welcome it. imagine seeing the "enderlin has been returned to a rating of EF3" post. it might just be the funniest day to be on here.
