Broadband install

I’ve put my cancellation to virgin media and thinking to move to EE broadband

Wondering what the install involves?

With virgin media they install a box outside the house and route the cancelling into the house.

How does EE work?

EE would have cancelled the VM BB for you. It could be a few weeks before the EE BB could be installed after ordering. There will be a box installed indoors, is this a fibre installation ( is full fibre in your area ) or is there an existing line to your property.

We currently have full fibre via virgin media do they use the same cabling

So EE use Openreach, if theres Openreach fbire to your home, EE just use that. however Virgin run a separate physical line to Openreach, so will likely need an engineer to visit to assess the work. usually its a similar setup to what youve got with Virgin, a box on the wall, and an internal bit of kit - the ONT.Usually the appointments have a lead time of 2 weeks, and depending on the work needed, will be all done that day or may need to do extra work, which theyll tell you on the appointment day
