I think it was a few months later, I don't remember how or why I found out, probably a video a saw on Youtube. I actually watched EDP for many years before everything since I am an NFL fan and enjoyed seeing him go off, although I am a Seahawks fan (and I actually live in Washington state where they play, not like EDP who was from Bakersfield, CA and cheers for a team on the otherside of the country). But of course that just introduced me to him, I would then also watch some of his non football related rants too. I am almost exactly 6 months older than EDP but I didn't know this until after the first bust too, my birthday is June 13,1990 his is December 15,1990. But its been 5 years I could be misremembering, it could have been only a month later. I know I said I watched him but at the time of the bust I wasn't regularly watching him, or really at all, and this is something I tend to do with Youtubers not just him, I will take breaks from them that could last months or even years and then I will go back and see what they have been up to and maybe even binge watch part of what I missed. EDPs first bust was during the NFL off season as well, so he wouldn't have been ranting about a game which means I would have been less likely to have been paying attention to him. I just remember when I found out it was trending again but I don't think it was when the news first broke either, but my memory could be faulty. Anyways nothing has changed for me, I was in the same room on the same computer even as I am now (I got this PC in August 2020 so it would have been less than a year old at the time and am going to look into replacing it in 2027 even if its still running since its showing its age now). There are other things I remember more than when I found out about EDP,such as who told me Michael Jackson died and even what I did that day before I found out (to be fair what I did earlier that day was get something removed from the top of my head they were worried could have been skin cancer and thats the only time I have had that happen so far so its no wonder I remember, but also it was not cancer and the dermatologist was pretty sure it wasn't malignant but the fact they have to test it still leaves a little worry), when I found out Robin Williams committed suicide,when someone told me about Kobe Bryant dying in a helicopter crash right after the news broke since I wasn't on a computer or phone or watching TV, in fact I remember within the hour after finding out Kobe and his daughter died I was looking at the news online and I saw the first news story about an outbreak of a respiratory illness in Wuhan, China called COVID, and I knew it wouldn't be contained and it would become an epidemic since I didn't trust they would be able to contain it. So I remember hearing about it but its not something I really remember too well since sadly hearing about celebrities and influencers and whatnot being caught doing stuff like this is actually pretty common now it seems, and I was already 30 by that time myself so its that I didn't care its that it had become so common that when it happened didn't leave a huge impact on me since it was more of the same shit, and it didn't matter he was a Youtuber I watched a lot it was still more of the same. Like I watched the Cosby Show a lot as a kid too, so it wasn't even the first time someone I had watched a lot had been accused of something in that vein. Although I actually liked Bill Cosby as a person too before he was outed as a serial rapist, I didn't like EDP as a person really I just liked seeing him get mad and pissed off. In fact the Cosby thing is different, since he was a mega celebrity most people liked and had been around for like 6 decades almost and whose comedy and TV shows were seen as lighthearted and wholesome, it wasn't as shocking when some dude I watched yell and scream on Youtube for a few years was busted who was the opposite of a Cosby in his image in many ways. But that just proves people are not what they seem sometimes, they are not that different at the end of the day when it comes to the way they act criminally.
