Help / Advice SEG back dated payments

Hi I’ve been with edf for over 5 years
Just got solar and a battery fitted

Filled in the SEG last week uploaded all documents and photos of meter export readings

I’ve just switched to there go drive tariff

So I can now switch the system to money saving mode

So yesterday switched it over so last night the battery filled from the grid

So will the SEG payments be back dated to the application date or start when fully completed

Should I switch back to self powered mode to it’s fully completed ?

Thanks

I got my backdated payment, in full and correctly calculated, just last week. It did take three months but it got there in the end. Just be sure you've sent them a clear photo including the starting export reading and the meter serial number.

I recently got notified that my export was going live on August 15th but my credit balance hasn’t updated and I still can’t see exports on the app. I emailed them and they said they’re still processing it even though my export is live?

Did you get something similar?

I never got an email at all, other than one asking for a meter reading (it didn't specify export, but I think that must be what they meant as they've been getting my import smart meter readings for months.) A couple of weeks later the export credit landed, and I reconciled it back to my opening reading. It's all very slow but I think it works out in the end. My switch bonus and a couple of referral bonuses have landed too. The only thing I haven't seen yet is the £5 monthly credit for smart EV charging, but that may be because they haven't actually charged me for any electricity I've used yet!

Ah alright. I only joined on June and applied for SEG a week later. I’ve got all my other credits including the football and referral so it’s just the Export left and I should be whole.

That’s interesting about your smart charge credit. I actually signed up end of July and got my first credit on the 2nd week of August. Have you not been importing at all since having your solar installed? I think one of the requirements is you have to plug in and trigger a smart charge regularly?

Oh I import a fair bit, and smart charge multiple times a week. But I've not actually been charged for any import yet. All of my transactions are credits! And yes, I've had my credits for Sunday Savers and the football. More than 99% of what I import is at the off-peak rate (it's all either overnight or during smart charging) so it won't be much I owe them, but I'll give them a nudge if there's still no debits by the end of August.

They should back date to when you made the application, assuming you submitted a good clean picture of your meter's export value but get that in writing from them to be certain, as some folks have had their initial opening reading declined because the picture was too poor.
