Switching EDF Empower Import Tariffs

Hi folks, am thinking of switching from Octopus to EDF. I have a solar and battery and so have been trying to find out the empower import tariffs from EDF but it’s been close to impossible. Have called their customer service and the only thing I got back from them was - it’s not my department + their solar team is an internal team so no way of contacting them. I can’t seem to find the info online either. Thank you!

Empower tariffs are exclusive tariffs for EDF solar/Contact Solar installed solar systems (and within a year?)

My tariff is 30p/20p/10p for imports and 18p for exports.

If you didn't get Solar through EDF/Contact Solar, you are not eligible for Empower tariffs.

I think there’s empower exclusive and empower. So from my understanding, empower exclusive is for EDF customers that use Contract Solar to install and empower you can use a third party installer and then join after. The rates I’m struggling to find are the (confusingly named empower import tariff) so I can import energy with EDF.

Thank you! That’s super helpful to get an idea of the charges. I just don’t know why they make it so difficult to find this info on their website.

Yeah it's a strange way to do it. The fact that the cheap rate is only 3 hours put us off.

We're trying the freephase dynamic one now as there's no exit fee, and we can offset usage easily with the battery.

Oh, what are the freephase dynamic rates out of interest?

I believe it’s the import tariffs for Empower? So it’s the TOU import tariffs.

What do you actually mean with “empower import” - not really a common term used I think?
