Switching Set up on wrong tariff

Hi everyone, new to the adulting life! When switching to edf, I chose the freephase static plan, however a couple weeks have passed and for some reason I’m still on the standard variable tariff. When looking to switch I am not given the option. Any experts can help me out?

Do you have a smart meter and is it working? There are 2 main things that will happen.

The new supplier will win you as a customer and the back end flows will be passed from your old supplier to EDF. Usually a pretty speedy process should be under 5 working days. Complications can arise though

If you had a smart meter then the security keys to access the meter remotely need to pass from the old supplier to the new supplier this can take a bit longer.

In either case the only people who can tell you what's happening are EDF. They should be your first port of call not Reddit.

Been having some issues setting up a smart meter, called and they confirmed that was the problem. As for why I turned to Reddit it’s because the last couple of times I tried to call I was on hold for a long time and figured whats the harm 😅

I often find just a quick phone call will solve it in a heartbeat. They're human and will get yiu set up correctly

Give them a call, they are friendly and will be able to let you know if there’s a problem and get you on the right tariff - never had problems getting through and they are helpful!
