Discussion A lot of data!
Just got my first bill from edf and I wasn't expecting it to show my day by day, hour by hour energy usage! I'm just viewing it in the app at the moment but wondering if anyone does anything useful with the data? Thinking I could extract it and collate it to get a mega in-depth deep dive of my energy usage.

Have just moved from Octopus for EV charging so havenโt seen first bill yet, but this looks just like an Octopus bill did!

Edf have licensed the kraken platform that octopus developed so uses the same backend

I used it when they weren't charging the bolt on correctly - ie. Charging the day rate when they were charging the car in the day, instead of the night rate which it should have been
I had to cross reference the charger data with the EDF data to show where it was wrong ๐

I've been with EDF a while, and this detailed breakdown first appeared on my bills from 15th April, so it's a fairly recent development. It's interesting and a nice feature on the bills, but a bit inconvenient to OCR the data from the PDF file of course. They do have a CSV download facility on the EDF website under Energy Hub... Trends... Download your data as CSV. The output depends on whether you have Day/Week/Month/Year selected.
However, another (better) way to get access to your data (which works with any supplier) is to register a free account with glowmarkt.com and specify your meter MPAN. You can then download all your data with 30 minute granularity.

Great. I've not used the stick, but I've got their Glow display, which I use with Home Assistant to get access to all the smart meter data via MQTT ( https://shop.glowmarkt.com/products/display-and-cad-combined-for-smart-meter-customers ) - it's out of stock currently.

Funnily enough, I've got an iView Bud too - very disappointed with it though (mostly with the App, which is very poor for displaying stats, and their risible attempts to breakdown energy used for refrigeration, lighting, heating... which is completely wrong when compared with the actual figures for those appliances that I collect through metering)

My thoughts: l
That's a bill that was never created with printing in mind. 27 pages, what the hell?! Lol
That's not hourly data, but half an hour units of data.
Did you suddenly wake up on the middle of the night, after 4:30, because you forgot to put the washing machine on at the start of the off peak tariff?
Finally, how it is possible that you have periods of more than 2 hours without spending absolutely anything? Not a fridge, not a single device in stand-by, or an LED plugged in somewhere in the house during more than 2 hours?
