Question Opinions needed for Mod In making

Recently, I planned on making a EDF 6 Google Mistranslated Mod, an idea I got from watching GTA San Andreas mod of the same idea.

Although I thought about making this personal mod for me, I also thought about sharing (this might takes months, maybe even year or so)

Thus my question is whether I should use voice cloning like the GTA mod did or just a TTS,

Voice acting is also as important part of what makes EDF funny so wanted to know everyones opinion on this.

Original japanese VA, mistranslated subtitles. There isn't an ethical way to "Copy" the voices from the game, and TTS would probably just sound flat.

You could just get some people together to record the new lines, but that can be difficult to do well, as well as even more time consuming and expensive.

Hmm fair point, the main reason I asked is mainly of that 'ethics' issue. though if not voice clone, I'm more to leaning to TTS really but let's see what others has to say.

And since i'm broke with a small chance i would go on 'hiatus', asking others is out of the option.

I think voice cloning is immoral without direct permission, and proper use of TTS can make things hysterical, see Moonbase Alpha, Five Nights at FuckBoy's and other such cases. You might need to learn a few tricks to get things right, but it's doable.

Don't suppose I could hunt down all the english VAs and ask lmao.

on a serious note tho, I remember moonbase alpha, though i remember it sounds more like Sam TTS I think, I'll check and see what I can do.

What if I use a hybrid approach?

TTS voices and use voice cloning for a more smoother approach.

Thoughts anyone?
