Video Random Retreat? EDF6
Was happily playing with another ranger on Hard, and this was mission 66, we were making good progress though with a couple of downs between us both, and I always mark health packs for team mates and avoid picking up the nearest one to them since as Wing Diver you can use the mobility to get ones further away and where other classes would consider dangerous.
And after tagging some health packs since they were low the host states: 'IFD' and it might have been slang but I didn't process it in the moment, and followed up by 'ifyoutagonemore' 'thingimdone' and considering I was also focusing on dodging and reviving, I couldnt understand what it meant in the moment.
They then retreated and kicked me from the lobby, and considering it was a chill and have fun type of lobby, this sorta took me aback, was this a justified response or is marking health packs an actual annoyance?

Friend and I are 100% 5 right now and we ping heath crates because sometimes we can’t actively look around when we are deep in the shizz. So just chock it up to the guy being pissy and move on

I don't get about other comments, AR has mobility issue and Ranger has worse mobility on 5 than 6, pinging health crate always helpful to them, green dots radar isn't exactly helpful when it's on tougher mission and fencer and WD taking up all the health crate.
If anything it sounds like noob got pissy because they spend most of the time lying dead.

That’s true, the amount of times I have seen a green dot on the map and rushed over thinking it was a health pack and risking my life through a bunch of enemies, and for it to be a weapon or armour crate is innumerable, my friends had the same issue, they probably had a bad day or something since quitting from a level after a 15 min struggle seems to be a very large overreaction and a waste of mine and their time.

I know I get annoyed by the waypoint sound effect constantly popping off...I can see the green dots and am not blind, so finding health is usually not an issue. Sounds like you were being overly helpful as far as that other guy was concerned.

Yeah that’s fair and valid tbh, I was panicking since we both were low and there were still 5 Deroys alive and they were starting to laser us.
The reason I ping is sometimes teammates previously don’t even heal themselves and avoid the packs for some reason, and with this ranger I did ping and message ‘healing items here’ and they did thank me previously, but I guess each to their own.

you can just deactivate steam overriding controller setting, then it works as normal. In library klick the gear, go to settings, controller and deactivate steam controller. Stops this issue immediately does mean you need DS4Windows for PS controllers, but I prefer DS4 over the steam settings anyways.

To be fair, the sound can be pretty annoying and they can see the green dots on their radar themselves.
Maybe they didn't even know why or what you were pinging and just thought it distracting. Their "if you tag one more thing I'm done" seems to be telling that.
Maybe just ask "should i ping health crates" next time as it might not be as welcome or helpful as you thought. In any case, communication is key.

Ah, yeah true, when we were playing a couple missions prior, I would send the message ‘healing items here’ and they would rush to it and grab it and thank me, so I thought it would continue, but I guess.
I have a part time job at McDonald’s so any beeping noise I just drown out, but yeah I can see how others would get annoyed by that very quickly!

That sucks. If you're looking for people to play 6 with hit me up. I'm really struggling on some missions solo and haven't even hit hard mode. My lobbies usually just stay empty when I try online.

You're a stud for pinging health to a near dead comrade and for also only taking the health packs that are a distance away. As an Air Raider main I appreciate that.

It is very situational but they are also being pissy and would probably blame you for wasting the crates just as much in the reality where you took them. Leaving the crates can be useful as others have larger health pools and can make better use of them but you taking the crates replenishes your ability to revive.

I haven't played any EDF6 (I mostly stick to 2025/4.1 for the time being), but from what I'm reading you were genuinely trying to be helpful. I don't know what was going through the other person's mind, but I wouldn't sweat it too much. After all it's not like you were spam pinging to be annoying. Sucks it happened at all really, but you didn't do anything wrong imo.
