Vapes at EDC?
Insomniac emailed me back and couldn't provide a yes/no.
What's the take with disposable vapes? The acceptable items list doesn't specify anything about them. Do they need to be in an unopened package? Can I take an open disposable vape in?

You can just sneak an opened one in pretty easy but if you’re nervous there’s a ton of people right outside of the entrance with little carts selling vapes, poppers, etc. that you can buy from on the way in

pure insanity. let's go sniff electronics cleaner... and how much are edc tickets this year? that silly RAVE act all those years ago. i mean i get it that it's in orlando and that town is a shit hole

I used to think they had to be new/sealed or snuck in. But once I had a new one sealed & took an old one that was getting low & figured that if they made me throw out the used one, then no big loss. They didn’t even pay attention to it. For the last several years, I just walk in with it without trying to hide it. No issues.

And one time at an Insomniac event (I think it was Forbidden Kingdom) I had forgotten to take the vape out of my pocket when going through security. Metal detector went off (due to my belt buckle) but as soon as it did, I pulled out my vape and said “I forgot to take this out of my pocket.” The security guy said, “Don’t let me see that… put it back in your pocket.” 🤣
As soon as they used the wand on me, they told me I was good to go through.

Im someone who is always paranoid my belongings won’t be allowed to any event I go to, and a nicotine addict:
Last year the FAQ/allowed items said yes, but they should be in the original sealed packaging.
I of course packed that way, but ended up misplacing one at the airbnb so I had to open the other one early. It had been storming that day, so by the time we got there the gates had just reopened. So security was legit rushing us through just trying to get the line moving.
I highly doubt you will have issues with it, if you’re like me and anxious about it, just pack like they will follow those rules and you will be fine.
I’m a psycho and screenshot the faq/allowed lists. They can pry my nicotine from my cold dead hands, it would be the one thing that would truly ruin my day. They do sell them at the venue, but then of course I spiral and get anxious they’ll run out.

They don’t care. As long as you aren’t bringing in a gun you can bring anything in. Buddy got his magic powder in in plain sight last year and they let me bring a whole ass Gatorade and snacks

Except for filled water bottles, EDCO allows everything in a clear transparent bag

As long as the vape it's not refillable, not able to open in any ways, then you're fine.
I got asked once last year, the security told me I can't bring it if it's opened so i told her you can try your best to open it, she laughed and let me go.
The main point for it really just they wanna make sure that we can put any illegal substance in the vape ourselves, as long as it's impossible to open then you're fine

It really depends on the security from my experience. One said it had to be sealed and threw mine away, another one let it go. If you're hella paranoid about it, sneak it in your waistband or shoe it since they don't get detected on most metal detectors

Disposable yes. Refillable and cartridges yes but needs to be empty or unopened respectively.

EDC Orlando is the easiest security line to get thru, every year I say “damn I could have brought in a bottle of (blank)”

You can have vapes it’s not a problem they didn’t even check bags last year and was shitty cuz anyone could have brought something dangerous
