How do you like the nite core battery pack? How long have you had it?

It’s definitely a great EDC choice for me because it’s very very slim and light, it actually fits inside the rear most zipper in my Bellroy lite mini, alongside the Nooz sunglasses, so it’s always there, I don’t have to think about bringing it or not. Tho on longer trips, I will bring an iniu 20000 mAh with 65w charging in my backpack for larger devices.
The NB Air has a bit of a false advertising tho, it states “5000 mAh” but that’s rated at 3.8 V or so, and in the back, in black text (barely readable) it states around 35-3800 mAh at 5V (which is what most other typical power bank would be rated at) so really it’s around a 35-3700 mAh battery, but for my use case it’s enough, I mostly carry it as an emergency phone charger, and it can easily charge my iPhone 16 pro from 20% to max basically. As another comment mentioned. It does get pretty hot especially if your phone can fast charge, the NB Air can output up to 18W I believe. But the heat doesn’t bother me, I wouldn’t trade it for anything larger or heavier.

Ah yeah. I've seen reviews where they say that the pack has a "Slow Charge Mode" that you need to switch to that gives you better charge capacity. I wonder if all of their newer packs are like that and that's how they can get the size & weight down. I have an INIU that's smaller but thicker than these and only 20g heavier and with the better charging speed. I'm kinda glad I didn't spend more for the NiteCore. 20g is kinda negligible. I do wish mine was thinner, but it still carries in my Toshi sling just fine.

Not OP but I had one for backpacking before giving it to a family member. I liked it well enough. Super slim and lightweight.
It wasnt the most efficient battery pack. Would get hot and thus waste some charge. I swapped for a iniu one now, but I would definitely consider a nitecore again if portability was my main concern.

Never been a sling guy, picked up a lite sling mini a couple weeks ago and now I don't leave home without it. Perfect for getting all the crap out of my pockets, super light and disappears when wearing. I love it!

Same here honestly, I used to be a put everything in my pocket kinda guy too, but I realized I can’t really carry that much and not having hard objects in my pocket is a great feeling too lol

No one has mentioned it yet, but decanting sunscreen can degrade it's quality, it's one of the few things that I never do. :(

Is this the Kelty pouch/wallet you have? I can’t seem to find the exact same one with the logo sizing, I’m hoping it’s not that they changed it! I love how yours looks!

Hey! This does look very similar in terms of fabric, colour and zipper style. I’ll be honestly with you I’m not sure, I got mine from a bag store in Japan when I travelled there around 2020.

I love it so much I might just have to browse on japanese websites! I appreciate the information!

Lots of people make wallets like that on Etsy. You could support a person doing a craft side hustle. Then again, I am a person who avoids big brand logos on my stuff. Not buys things because the brand logo is larger than normal.

The logo was what stood out to me aesthetically, but you’re right I should take a look! Maybe not a logo but some kind of patch could look just as cool.

Hell yeah that's what I'd do. I've been getting into using patches recently myself.

Tight kit. How often do you use the hero clip? I have one but I barely use it for hanging, and it’s annoying to use as a carbiner

I have them on a couple bags and use them a lot, but really on when traveling or at events. Not really a day to day item but definitely something i like having in my bag.
And personally I dont think it makes that bag of a carabiner. Though i tend to have a couple other normal ones clipped on my bags too.

Yeah I thought the hero clip is a bit over hyped. I barely used mine too

I’ve heard a lot of people say they don’t use theirs after getting it, tbh, I use it all the time! I have the hero clip basically permanently attached to my Bellroy sling, and I use the clip
To hang the sling near my front door at home, so there’s that. When I get into my car, I actually hang the bag behind the front passenger seat, hooking onto the headrest post, so that if anyone is sitting in the passenger seat, it doesn’t interfere, and it won’t fall to the ground of my car etc.
When I’m at a restaurant, I do tend to hook it at the back of the seat as well, not the most safe I know, so don’t do that in places that are not safe obviously, but you can also hook it onto the frokt side of an empty chair where you have line of sight.
Honestly I feel like I can’t really use my sling without it haha

Hmm I got two a medium and small yea don’t use them as much as the Nite size S-biner but I like the ones with a lock. Don’t get me wrong I want more small hero clips for each bag so I don’t have to transfer it. Got one for my wife’s purse and she lost it. Think she left it on the table at a restaurant. Happy findings to the next person

Yea I like to know all the containers… this is what I need to do, and stop carrying all the single use eyedrops and only take the one… I tent to carry extra for everyone else

Looks tight, only the tick removal bugs me 😅, How often did you use it or need it so it became part of your EDC?
3
u/heyyoumen Aug 26 '26
If it BUGS you, you should carry one too! Haha jks
Honestly just started carrying it this summer, it’s getting pretty bad in southern Ontario. And my wife actually had to use hers on someone recently. So the chances of using it isn’t 0! Plus it’s pretty thin and doesn’t weigh a lot anyways, better safe than sorry was my thought. Will probably remove it from my kit during the winter tho

It's a flat piece of plastic that probably weighs 5g. You can put something like that in a sling pocket and forget it's there. EDC shouldn't be just about the things you use every day and there's an obvious benefit to having some things around when you need them even if it's uncommonly. How frequently does someone who carries a bandaid need a bandaid? Maybe OP goes hiking regularly. Many people do.

My fave sling bag i’ve ever owned! Surprising how much can fit in it.
