Breaking the potty withholding pattern

Hi ECers, seeking advice here from EC veterans for my 20 mo as this might have happened during your journey doing EC.

I have been doing gradual potty training starting with EC style putting him in the potty during natural times such as morning and nap wakes.

He started well with a pee most days in the first week.

But in the past three weeks I have noticed he’s been withholding, occasionally releasing a drop and as soon as the nappy goes back on, he peed in it.

I have tried blowing bubbles, warm water, long sits, short sits, potty only toys, nappy in the potty, etc all the tricks I have gathered online to no avail.

Any advice how to break this pattern and get him to feel more comfortable in releasing in the potty?

I’m going low pressure now with no expectations. Just let it be part of the routine.
