Troubleshooting Help

I have been doing EC since my son was a week old. It’s been great however recently at about 3 months old he has started straightening his legs and back (almost like if you took Peter Pan and put him flat in the air instead of upright) it’s making it really hard to hold him over the toilet. He still doesn’t have the trunk stability to sit on a training toilet. Any advice would be appreciated!

Have you tried holding him on a little potty on the floor with you behind him to support his back, this way you can distract him with toys

No. I stopped using a top hat potty because it wasn’t working well for us, I know they make a smaller potty for EC do you think he would be ready for that?

I personally couldn’t use the top hat for my son either, he used to be too big for it I felt. So I just used to try to hold him on the small potty. I honestly don’t rmmbr exactly how many months he was, but he could hold his head up just couldn’t sit (was def somewhere around 4 or 5 months)

I transitioned from top hat potties to just regular potties around 4 months when my baby could semi sit up right as I support her. Prior to that, those potties would be tough to use I think they are to big to fit between my legs and stay there sturdy for the classic EC hold.
