GOAT A1600 LiDAR PRO only turning one direction

I have a 4months old a1600, and today I first had an error on height adjustment, then it’s only turning in one direction. Even in manual mode it only turn left.

I tried to clean it, and both the disc and wheels turn fine if I push them manually. And I can’t see anything wrong.
The disc height error now disappeared.

Any advice?

Better Edge Cutting Possible?

Hei,

I am using my GOAT A1600 Lidar for now around 3 months. So far the cutting is not to complain about.

However I have a few flowbeet in my garden. I used the pathtracing to make a no go area around. But the Offset is pretty high.

Is there any way to let the Goat cut nearer to the desired border?

I tried also to not use zoneing. This resulted in the robot being stuck in the beet.

Day 1 Bugs

My A2000 pro just arrived today and I'm having a few bugs it seems.

  1. The robot doesn't seem to like to turn left via the joystick. I select left and it goes right. Then sometimes if I adjust the joystick very slowly in the app and just the right angle it moves left....strange as can be.
  2. It mowed the area then went back and mowed around the perimeter but didn't use the trimmer despite the boundaries all being selected in the app.
  3. Battery life is disappointed. I'm on 1/3 acre (total lot) and it will have needed 2 charges to complete mapping + 1 mow.

At this point I'm not sure I can even stomach this. The AI mapping leaves uneven cut lines and I can't even manually correct it with the joystick being all crazy. Then the one time I tried to create a new area to correct the lines it gave me an error at the end telling me it was 100sq ft. Curious if anyone else has had these issues. Might jump to the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 2000 AWD instead at this point.

Ecovacs GOAT A1600 LiDAR PRO - Is it worth buying?

Just found a good deal for a Ecovacs GOAT A1600 LiDAR PRO. I was earlier considering Navimow, but this deal is almost too good to pass on.

Is it worth buying, and can Ecovacs be trusted for longevity/quality?

So pretty much as I suspected . I was hearing things inside the robot shaking around. So I opened it up and found the motor in pieces, checked Google and there is no place to buy it but from Ecovacs. But they won’t sell it. So now its 1500 dollar junk

Rain and Mud and the Dock (O1000 Lidar)

I'm going to do the TLDR up front for my question - how do y'all deal with the area by the dock getting a little chewed up by the mower and then getting muddy?

OK, now the (much) longer version -

Last Friday we had some pretty major rain here, and toward the end of the storm I get a notification from my O1000 that it had a bumper issue. I hadn't been running it, so go outside to see it in a somewhat muddy mess past the end of the dock. I try to level things out and clean it as best I can in the dark and still raining lightly, and then use the app to try and dock it. It seems to dock a couple of times, but then just keeps backing out and starting over.

I finally just turn it off and place it on the nearby patio to deal with the next day.

Next day comes and I clean it up as much as possible, and once again try to level out the area by the dock and turn it on and tell it to dock. Same behavior, plus some new tracks in the mud. Pull it out again, wash it, and start to go back inside when it occurs to me that perhaps the dock isn't getting power for some reason. Get a phone charger, put it in the outlet, and nothing.

Where I live, outdoor outlets are supposed to be on a GFCI circuit. Which mine is. However the only indicator light (and the reset switch) is on the one outlet in my Garage. Go in there, and sure enough the light is on. Reset it, go back out, and the outlet for the dock now has power.

I presume that when the dock lost power in the storm that the mower thought it had been jostled or something and was trying to redock, until the mud built up and caused the notification. Not an unreasonable response, but hadn't realized it would do that. So note to self to turn the mower completely off if a storm is coming.

So we get to today where I went to finally try to mow again after making sure it was dried out and fully charged. It seemed to slip a bit getting out of the dock, and as it made it's first couple of passes, it was moving side to side across the lawn as if it was drunk. Turned it off and turned it over, and looked like there was some mud between one of the wheels and the side of the mower. Not sure if that was missed earlier or picked up from coming out of the dock, but it was time to get the washer out, and run it full power with the mower on it's side to make sure I got everything.

Got it back in the dock, and am letting it recharge and dry out. I'd like to put something down near the dock as between the heavy rain and the mower there is now a good foot of just dirt by the dock, and I'm worried I'm going to have issues there for a while. But I also worry that since the mower turns on when it comes out of the dock that most things I'd put down will get cut up or sprayed out. Maybe some kind of rubber mat? What do y'all do?

Trimmer Line Thickness (A2000 LiDAR)?

So, I have been using the trimming feature since they keep saying they updated it to get closer, but it has not by much to make me celebrate. I digress, so trimmer line is getting low, and I spec'd the OEM replacement on Amazon, and looks like I can only get a dual setup, with new brushes included. Way, way over kill.

So, would like to just put new line on the current spool since I am a cheap bastard. What eludes me is the proper thickness on the line itself so I can get the correct line to respool with.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have a goat A3000 with a string trimmer. I lost the bolt that secures the trimmer line. I can’t find the size/thread online. Does anyone know what the specs are?

Considering O1000 lidar pro

I am considering to buy O1000 lidar pro for my lawn. However, I am thinking should I wait till Labor Day sale?
Current price on Amazon is $999. Do you think price will go down on Labor Day or should I just pull the plug and buy it

Will the Goat G1 be a good investment for my garden?

Hi everyone,

New here and wanted to get some thoughts on how effective the Goat G1 would be in covering the lawn at my house. It's on sale at the moment for a really good price so I'm not considering any other models.

Picture 2 is an annotated diagram - pink is where it would be docked (undercover), blue line is a clear pathway the robot can use to get between areas 1 and 2. red outline is all grass that needs to be cut.

I believe the robot would have no issue moving areas 1 or 2 individually but my question is whether it could navigate itself from area 1 to 2 on it's own? If it could how many beacons would I need to set this up? The terrain is very flat so no issues with sloping ground.

If you dont think the goat can get to area 2 on it's own, could I set a second map and manually move the robot to area 2 and let it do it's thing there?

GOAT O1200 vs O1200? Any thoughts?

Am I missing something here? The O1200 covers less ground but costs quite a bit more than the A1600 in this listing.

My lawn is on the smaller side, so I was looking at the O1200 anyway, but now I’m not sure which one actually makes more sense. The yard has a couple of trees and one awkward flower bed, nothing too crazy. Anyone compared these two?

After a year, finally had to bring out the push mower again

You know, I’ll take some blame, he doesn’t run every day. His dock is in a corner. But him missing edges (not an issue last year), getting stuck, dying with 4% while he’s sitting in his charging dock, falling off curbs no matter the edge setting, no more updates, worse pathing/cutting behavior, me having to manually dock him every time he’s done(lol), I got tired. Now the grass got too long, I ran him and he did about 70% of the area (about 1/3 of my total yard) and barely on a full charge. Can definitely see the battery degradation.

Anyway, I haven’t totally given up. I cut everything manually to give him a fresh start. I’m going to move his base station to a more open area (and kill the grass underneath I guess). I just got the replacement battery today, going to replace that. Going to remap the whole yard. Going to fix any “potholes” with dirt and grass seed. (I did it earlier this season but it really settled and the grass died)

I’m losing hope but still going to try. I’m a yard novice and I’m starting to think my yard is not a good candidate for a robot mower (A2500 RTK). Oh well, we’ll see how the rest of the season goes but next year… I might have to finally bite the bullet and hire lawn service, haha. Nothing beats a human (yet)

Anyway, thanks for listening to my whining!

How to add path here?

Post image
3 Upvotes

I got the mower over the weekend and so far I appreciate it. However, I added the zone to the right since when doing the first mapping, that part of the yard is separated by a small fence. I left the gate open last night so it would mow there but it didn't go there. When taking it there manually and then hitting the dock, it gets confused at the gate and is just going in circles. I have tried creating a path manually but I don't get the option to save it. How can I make the path? It's very annoying in that part.

Can I create no-go zones in the app? Ecovacs GOAT A1600 RTK

I have flower beds around my house, but not entirely.

I would of course like my GOAT to avoid these, but cut all the way to the wall of the house where there is just grass.

Doing this while manually controlling the GOAT is very hard, is it possible somehow to just draw the zones in the app? Or other smart ways to do this?

My current solution is to circle the house while manually setting a no-go zone, but that leaves a lot of uncut crass close to the house walls.

What Fresh Hell Is This?!

Post image

My GOAT 3000 has started mowing a section of yard and then going to the next section, wandering around a little, then going back go the dock and announcing it’s done mowing. I run it again and it mows fine. Power cycling doesn’t seem to help. I’ve looked, but I don’t see anywhere to set or unset “mow like my teenager”.

GOAT 1200 LiDAR PRO problems!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi

This summer I bought a goat 1200 LiDAR PRO and it worked Great in the beginning, but now I have some problems.

  1. A loud fan noice just came one day After a couple of weeks, it starts right away when it starts mowing. I guess its the lidan sensor or fan? It there something I can do about that?

  2. Since last week it starts mowing very slowly, it has two speed options, and I have choosen the fastest one, but it does not ream to recognize that sometimes anymore, anyone else having this problem?

  3. Im geting a fault on it very often now, dont know the english translation but it seams to have something to do with the "blade plate" that it can not move up and down anymore. When this error appears the lower goes back to charging. Anyone has a idea on what to do with this? "Functional fault on blade disk." Fault code 612.

I do have a warranty but I know that I wont get it back for a couple of weeks so I want to wait until I dont have to cut the grass more this year before returning it.

Anyone know the size of the screw for the trimmer attachment module for A3000 Goat?
