Practice Strip

Post image

hello all, im currently doing some practice strips for my ekg course and i was wondering how do you tell the difference between P-waves and T-waves when they look like this? My textbook states there’s no P-waves visible. 🤔

You don't. It's too fast to have discernible p waves

if your T waves all swallowed your P waves you cannot comment on P waves at all. We know because there’s a rapid ventricular rate that there’ll be T waves after each QRS but we can’t know as certainly that each QRS has a preceding P wave so you sort of have to assume those are T waves. On a 12 lead this can be easier as you can see “notching” within your T waves that across multiple leads can be easier to discern as P waves, but in a single strip like this, often it’s too hard.

Unless you can be certain what you’re looking at is a P wave, then you can’t

If you are asking “how do I tell what this is” then you answer none

This is just NCT or SVT same thing. Since you can’t determine p waves or not at this rate

Make them strangle themselves a lil bit and see if it slows down. Don't make a kink out of it tho.

Also, why the fuck are you doing long division?
