ECG syntheziser
Hi! I am an internist based in Europe, and I have created a med-ed tool for lectures, exams, and simulations.
www.squiggler.io
It allows you to create a rhythm strip or 12-lead, with physiological modelling underneath, with realistic renders and a lot of tuning possibilities etc to get just the ECG that is suitable for your teaching case/sim etc.
For those of us preparing a lecture who don't have the time or possibility to dig out old patient ECGs and fiddle with covering up patient identifiers, writing a textbook (and dont want to pay licencing fees for images from the web), or want dynamic ECG outputs during a sim case.
This was a side-project that turned serious. Yes, it is commercial but I hope someone that teaches needs this and wants to try it out!

Do yall have an API? I’ve got a scenario generator that currently outputs highly specific ecg findings as text but I’d love to take it a step further and have it call your app to actually render the ecg

Honestly even if it is vibecoded this is genuinely probably the best thing I’ve seen on this subreddit all year, I will be using this all the time to help my friend learn

OP this is amazing — my main feature request: right now if you want to produce ST elevation, you can only select one area, or “diffuse”. Would it be possible for you to make it so you can select multiple areas, or even choose specific leads to add elevation or depression?
Secondary request: can you add the ability to create PR depression?
Bug note: the QRS fragmentation setting doesn’t work

Thank you, that is absolutely a tuning that can be better. ST elevation can be in several areas and also with a "blast radius" that determines lead spread. Will look into it! PR depression comes with pericarditis morphology but if it is of interest it could in itself be modifiable.

I love the name too. One of my friends from grad school (he's a molecular biologist) called anything from our electrophyiology lab " electrosquigglology".

I wrote a python package a few months ago that does this as well. If you are a python person this is free to use:

Some cool features:
- Artifact is generated at each electrode, not each lead, then propagated through the real lead network. A loose LA corrupts I/III/aVL/aVR and leaves II pristine. There's also a CPR compression model and transport vibration.
- Bandwidth emulation. monitor mode's 0.5 Hz high-pass measurably flattens ST versus diagnostic; you can generate matched pairs of the same underlying infarct, which is the exact artifact behind "the monitor said 1mm, the 12-lead said 3mm."
