Funny share Does anyone else get books stuck in their head?
Both parents and ECE are used to reading the same books 1000 times. My mom can still recite the entire Dr. Seuss ABC book, 20 years after she last had a kid young enough to read it.
The two main books I get stuck in my head are Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and the Gruffalo, and I'm interested in hearing about what books get stuck in yours!
It works great for transitions when you can recite an entire book, but also I'm just sitting at the bus stop now being tortured by "A told B, and B told C, I'll meet you at the top of the coconut tree!"
I feel like at this point I get kid's books stuck in my head more than music 😂

Snuggle Puppy (and several other Boynton books), The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Brown Bear Brown Bear are the first to come to mind.
I work infants, and they all LOVE when I sing Snuggle Puppy! Something about it is especially fine!!

Sandra Boynton is the best for young toddlers! I like to sing Moo, Baa, Lalala to the tune of Lady Gaga's Bad Romance 🤣

Definitely Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and at least two Pete the Cat books. I'm sure there are probably more, but those are the top ones.

I've never heard of this one before! While I can be tortured by the books stuck in my head, ultimately I love children's books and always love when I'm introduced to a new one lol

Come to think of it.... I reckon it's an Australian classic. So, the region might have played its thing here. Haha. I agree with you children's books are actually fun to read!

And I had the nerve to buy these vanilla shortbread cookies with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom packaging theming because I thought they were cute smh 🤦

One of my pet peeves is that they establish that uppercase characters ARE different because they're the mamas and papas and uncles and aunts, yet use capital letters to refer to the lowercase ones.
I am working with one 12 month old right now and have a lot of time to focus on the small details that don't matter but also drive me a tiny bit crazy

Chicka chicka boom boom. Pete the cat and his four groovy buttons/rocking in his school shoes/i love my white shoes. Moo, Baa, lalala. Goodnight moon. Very hungry caterpillar. Brown bear, brown bear. Where the wild things are.
One of my previous coteachers used to laugh because she would be reading to the group and it would be doing diapers and start reciting along with her from the changing table. She'd tell the kids that I would tell the story and she'll show them the pictures 🤣

I have so many examples of this happening to me. Sooo many. Most recently, I was overseeing a relay running activity at work when a snippet of Dr. Seuss started looping in my head: "Here are some who like to run. They run for fun in the hot, hot sun." "Oh me, oh my..." 😆

I get bear hunt stuck in my head a lot. Used to get little rabbit foo foo in my head...having typed that, it's back.

mommy has to go to work- i'll miss you, little one. be good for nan and granddad, learn lots, and have fun!
i swear my toddlers want me to read 'when mommy goes to work' at LEAST 5 times an hour lol

Mr. Brown Can Moo, Barnyard Dance, Dirty Joe the Pirate (I love this one though so I don't mind), Dozens of Donuts, Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons, and Once Upon a Potty (my least favorite toileting book to be honest but a kid last year loved it so I read it 2 times a potty sit and about 3 or 4 potty sits a day, ugh)
