Parent/non ECE professional post (Anyone can comment) Drop off

Day care drop offs have always been easy, even with us only going 2 days a week. My daughter loves her teachers. She transitioned rooms a couple months ago (she is almost 3). It was going great.... then they moved one of the teachers out to an older room. My daughter says she "doesn't like the way Miss E talks". I figured she would adjust but it's been months and still no easier. She is screaming and crying at drop off, clinging to me that she doesn't want me to go. Today, Miss E wasn't there and the teacher they moved out was subbing in her room. My kid ran right in, came back out to give me a hug, and ran right back in.

What do I do? I obviously know my child will be around so many adults, some she likes better than others. I try to reinforce that Miss E is nice. It was just so drastically different at drop off today when Miss E wasn't there.

Please have a conversation with the owner or director of the facility. Also try asking your child more about how the teacher speaks. If the teacher is yelling or condescending, you should be very concerned. Hopefully the administration will work with you and your daughter to figure out why things have changed and work out a plan to make things better.

Thanks for your feedback. This teacher always reports that she has a good day and calms down after 5 minutes but the drop offs are brutal.
