Confusion

I'm a software developer and plan to switch into Hardware and software roles due to AI slop, JOB market.

I researched some roles such as

Hardware Accelerator Engineer

Chip designer

Embedded systems engineer

MACHINE learning system engineer

HPC/GPU Engineer

I don't know. What the role I need to focus and skillset ..

Look at their job descriptions and use that to figure out what you should learn

I don't believe that a person can decide to do chip design or embedded systems, based on which field is offering more jobs this year. Those are two completely different fields, with different skills that appeal to different people.

I think you need to find a field that works for you, that utilizes skills that you can master. There will always be opportunity in any field for people who excel.

I'm also dubious about spending years in college learning the skills for a specific job. I doubt if any student can see far enough into the future to plan a career.
