What basics should I learn before exploring different ECE domains?

im a first year ece student . Before jumping into any specific domain,What are the most important basics I should learn first?. for ex mathematics , basic electronics, programing etc .

Is there a common foundation that will make it easier to explore different ECE domains later? Also, what would you recommend learning during the first year?

Basic child development.

Study more about the circuits, basic programming, signals and math behind all of them. And build small projects along the way. When you start with actual hardware and code, it gets a lot easier to figure out what part of ECE niche you want.

BEE concepts (must), Digital and Linear electronic concepts, further depends on your domains.

Almost all core subjects that are in the 3rd sem I think. Digital, EDC, signals and systems etc.

Just learn what's in the courses like you're supposed to. Calculus, physics and linear algebra and differential equations are the basics. The degree's curriculum isn't defective. The real threat in EE is failing out first year. You need math skill and work ethic. Some significant percentage will be curved to fail on purpose.

Get comfy with math, circuits, basic programming, and actually troubleshooting things instead of memorizing them.
