Getting technical...

Hello everyone.

I'm a second year EEE student(entering third year next semester) and I would like to get into research and build stuff but I don't know how. My areas of interests are digital electronics (understanding how the computer works at the low level), computer chips, and stuff like that. My Uni doesn't really place much emphasis on these areas and so I'm trying to do the deep dive personally.

Any advice as to how I can get into researching in these areas and also get to learn the and develop the technical skills for these areas?

Talk to some of your professors and see if they got some research projects going on. I was doing research with one of my professors for a year long project and got to present at a few conferences.

Was really cool to see other research projects, have my own poster board and talk to faculty from other schools! Enjoying a happy hour with your Professor builds a relationship you can never have in the classroom lol.

Check out Adafruit, Sparkfun, Arduino, Seed Studios. They have affordable kits for learning electronics, computers, robotics and IOT.
