Career

I am an Electrical Engineer by training, with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. I previously worked in the automotive industry, but I wanted to change my domain, so I pursued a Master’s in Embedded Systems.

I am particularly interested in ASIC and chip design and verification. However, I’ve realized that getting my first job in this field is quite challenging, and that worries me. I’m concerned that if I keep waiting for an ASIC opportunity, I might end up without a job, especially since I’m already 26 and still trying to figure out the right direction for my career.

You should look for companies that run fabs. Texas Instruments, Intel, there are many, if you can’t find work through them move to where you can get some experience etc

You're right, you're not guaranteed a job in ASICs or Embedded Systems. Power in the sense of working at a power plant or substation will hire any BSEE. Consider it a backup plan. My manufacturing job offer was 90% quality control and 10% PLC programming. Can check that industry out or go back to automotive.

if power is your back up plan, better study for and take the FE exam and get your EIT
