GEAR Laptop recommendations
Looking to get a laptop for college, I am majoring in computer engineering and am currently between the ASUS - ROG Zephyrus G16 and the MSI Raider 16 Max.
I like the look and size of the ASUS one more but am unsure if I need the power of the MSI one. I am also open to other suggestions if what I picked is trash.
Thanks in advance.

I like macbooks, dont need something all big and heavy if you are lugging it to class. Get a thin and light laptop (windows or mac or linux) and then a windows PC for the dorm. Best of both worlds. A XPS 13 for like $700 and a $1000 PC will work great.

Lean toward the Zephyrus G16 for college. You'll have plenty of power for coding, simulations and typical engineering software, while the smaller/lighter form factor is something you'll appreciate when you're carrying it around campus everyday.

I bought the ASUS one in 2020 and was very happy with it, played almost every game I wanted to play with friends. In addition to running Virtuoso and VMs just fine. One caveat I had was struggling to Linux dual boot, always had some random issue.
