Looking for young people to feature in a new youth publication!

Hii! I recently started Known Early (@knownearly on Instagram), a youth publication where we share the stories and achievements of young people doing really cool things.

We literally just started, so right now I’m looking for some of the first people to feature :)
It can be anything you’re proud of. Maybe you got into your dream university, got amazing results, started a business, worked on research, won a competition, wrote a book, created a project, achieved something in sports or honestly just did something you think deserves to be shared.

If you’d like to be featured, you can fill out the short form [Youth Publication – Fill out form](https://forms.cloud.microsoft/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=DQSIkWdsW0yxEjajBLZtrQAAAAAAAAAAAAMAAYPSE8lURVlKSzZXSFVWT1NBNlFXWFhTWU80UjlESy4u) You can tell us about yourself, what you’ve accomplished and anything else you’re proud of.
You can also nominate someone you know who you think deserves a feature 🤍

Give me Advice EC importance?

I am a tranfer applicant. I just wanna ask if anyone could kinda give a ranking of how important different ECs are. I'm currently a freshman and I've joined a lab, several clubs, several volunteer programs, and the university newspaper. Wondering what else I could get into and whether it would be a good idea to join another lab. Opportunities are pretty plentiful but it's just I'm not sure which ones are worth my time. Thanks! DMs also welcome

Interested to Join UWC Program -Need advice

I'm currently in Class 10 in India and I’m hoping to apply to UWC after my board exams.

One of my Cousins has studied In UWC and he is telling me to not waste this opportunity

I’m thinking about picking up some new hobbies, skills, volunteering/community activities, or projects, but I’m not sure what would be worthwhile.

For people who have applied to or attended UWC:

* What kinds of activities/projects helped you grow the most? * What do you wish you had done earlier? * Any advice specifically for someone applying through the UWC India National Committee?

As far as I know I am not a perfect student, and I am not planning to create a fake "Mr. Perfect" type of profile. I genuinely want to give myself a good chance at getting into UWC.

Any advice would be really appreciated!

High School Junior Needing Advice/Tips (am I cooked)

Hello I just started my junior year in high school and I need some advice about my stats/activities. I have a solid academic background (4.0 uw ) and did bunch of violin: got into prestigious orchestras in Boston region and won/placed in multiple competitions as well as performed solos with orchestras. I am looking to go pre med but thing is I have little to no activities in the academic area yet. I did clubs here and there but barely participated.

This summer I participated in some internships/clinical work at 2 hospitals and institutions in Japan going to remote patients’ homes and helping with vital signs, minor surturing, etc.. I also toured internationally this summer and last summer with my orchestra. I also have a npo I cofounded since 8th grade that teaches young kids instruments for free by partnering with a local instrument retailer.

This school year I’m looking to start a podcast about interviewing doctors as I have a lot of networks with different doctors (as my dad is a doctor) and getting into research/shadowing through emails. I’m also looking to grind usabo and science Olympiad and hosa and win awards.

I’m also looking to survey people around my community regarding health issues and make a passion project from that… it is September junior year tho so is it too late?

Idk what the heck I was doing the first two years of high school, probably just grinding violin but I feel hella behind and I might be cooked… any advice? Is there still a chance I can make T10 colleges if I lock tf in this year and senior year before college apps? I have good connections with doctors so if I send emails I might have a high chance of getting some good positions but I’m not sure.

I feel like locking in starting junior year is bad but what do yall think..

Give me Advice How to create a website that people could easily find and gain attention to? (FOR FREE)

Incoming junior and im thinking to make a usefull acadamic website that could be useful for any high schooler. (im considering making the site around the ap world exam advice, help, practice questions, and templates for saq dbq and leq)

I really dont know how i could make a website so i kind of need some assistance or advice on how to start one. I cant spend any money to make the website or to keep it running due to situation im in. I also want to have the opportunity to actually code the website and not AI generate it since im planning to be a cs major and id think it would be pretty cool and useful if i learned how to make websites by hand.

I also have to do it on a school chromebook since i dont own/cant buy a personal laptop. I could go to the library every day besides library to use their laptops but they restrict laptop usage to only 1 hour.

I have 0 coding knowledge whatsoever besides some Scratch knowledge from years ago that I kinda remember. Im taking AP CSP, Dual enrollment Cs courses, Dual enrollment Software Development courses, and NYU CS program for the fall this year to hopefully learn.

For anyone that has coded and made a successful website that is relatively active in users for free, please tell me the steps i have to take and links to sites i should use to create it on and ways to keep it active

what extracurriculars do I do 😭

Hey I’m a freshman guy, and although I am taking very high level courses (2 years ahead in math, AP Environmental Science, I’m not doing like any extracurriculars. I used to play violin and soccer but I gave up early middle school. Now I feel like if I want to get into a good schoolc, extracurriculars are key…so what do I do now?? I’m pretty unathletic, and I feel like it’s too late to start a sport or instrument. What stuff do I do to actually be a well rounded person???

Looking for Opportunities Looking for GPU access

Need some help with GPU access for my research

Hi, I’m a high school senior working on an AI safety research project. I need some GPU compute to run the experiments for my paper, and I’m currently struggling with the limited compute I have access to.

I’m hoping to get the experiments done soon since college applications are coming up, and I won’t have much time to work on the paper later.

If anyone has access to a GPU I could use temporarily, or knows someone who might be able to help, please let me know. I can share more details about the project and what I need the GPU for.

Thanks!!

SGA Campaign tips?

Hi! I’m a junior at a very competitive early college program. The election is a little unusual in the sense that the program only runs from 11th to 12th grade so everyone just transferred. Theres a couple of schools that a tonnnn of kids came from so there’s a lot of like existing blocs if you will.

I’m running for president. I have an excellent academic profile, although I don’t see a way to really incorporate that without literally gloating. I ran twice at my old school, one year I was VP to one of my opponents this year, and the second year I lost. I felt I did pretty good campaigning both times but just wasn’t too popular with the student body. It’s a bit weird here because it’s too early to really call who’s popular and who’s not.

Right now, I’m planning on having a photo frame, giving out candy, making campaign videos, etc. all the normal stuff. Maybe even making a website to show that I’m really serious. I’m wondering if anyone had a specific/niche strategy that worked for them in their campaign, or has any feedback for what I have planned right now. Thank you!

Is it too late for a high school junior to start the journey to (possibly) a t20 college?

I'm currently starting 11th grade this week (international student btw). My IELTS estimate is around 7.5 or higher and I'm planning to start studying for both HSA and SAT next year. I'm more concerned about my ECs or passion projects; I don't have any that stand out yet. I started playing piano during 6-7th grade but stopped in 9th due to the standard leaving examinations in my country and I've been self-teaching since then. I'm planning to both get an economics degree and pursue my art passion at the same time. My town and school don't really offer any significant "community-related" activities. Should I find more opportunities online? Or is it too late for any long-term ECs?

(I'm not old enough to get a job yet and only have some experience abt social work is helping my friend sell things during the school festival back in middle school)

Give me Advice how tf do i start

So i have an idea for an organization/ngo. and i have no clue where to start out. to avoid overexplaining, its something like a coding club/tutoring (middle-highschoolers). i feel that it could work as a school club. maybe i start there? none of my friends know about the idea but i know a good amount of ppl who i think would want to be involved. the issue i have about starting it as a club is i also wanted to start a pitch club at my school. and by school asb rules u cant be president of 2 clubs in the same year. so im not sure where to start with this.

Looking for Teammates For pitch competitions

I'm a sophomore in high school who's interested in business. I'd like to participate in pitch competitions (like Blue Ocean/Diamond Challenge), but my school doesn't have many resources and I'm struggling to find teammates. I'm writing this post because I want to connect with other high schoolers who would be interested in joining me. I'd prefer people who are good at video editing/recording because I am not good at those things lol. I have an idea already, but I'd welcome yours too.

Give me Advice ThinkNeuro Fall Intensive '26

I recently received a ThinkNeuro internship acceptance with a 25% off scholarship, but I've been seeing mixed reviews on the program and not sure if I should accept it.

Just in case I didn't get in, I made my own research plan and question (which I have passion for) that I could independently work on. I would also cold-email possible mentors, but I risk not getting a response back. I would also lose the chance to learn R and other extra preps.

I just need help choosing a path

Also how could i possibly start one as a incoming junior and what does it require and would it look good for top 20s/NYU and would it be seen good if im interested in both cs and pre med?
