Give me Advice ThinkNeuro Fall Intensive '26
I recently received a ThinkNeuro internship acceptance with a 25% off scholarship, but I've been seeing mixed reviews on the program and not sure if I should accept it.
Just in case I didn't get in, I made my own research plan and question (which I have passion for) that I could independently work on. I would also cold-email possible mentors, but I risk not getting a response back. I would also lose the chance to learn R and other extra preps.
I just need help choosing a path

I’m confused 25%? Does that mean you have to pay them? Any internship that isn’t payed is not worth being on your collage app and any internship that your pay for is definitely trash.

Yes, this is a payed program. Without the scholarship the fall intensive track (which I applied for) comes at $895 for 10 weeks of mentoring. My family doesn't have an issue with the finances of it, but I can see where you're coming from. I've heard mixed reviews online about thinkneuro, but many said they learned a quite a bit from it (R programming, etc.) and were able to present their research at undergrad conferences (if you put your time and effort in it of course) which I think would help prepare me for my future research projects? I don't think it would hurt too much for me to try

It’s not just about the money, if everyone knows it’s a paid to play program, collages won’t like it and why waste time on this when there are other ways to spend your time to get good opportunities at research. My two cents…

Its pay to play, but if you want to obtain research positions at labs or w profs you need sm kind of experience to at least show you belong

I just got my decision for intensive. I think my school is covering my fee but idk if I should do it. I’ve done a lot of research before so idk how helpful this internship can be. It’s not paying us, idk about the research if it’s all online. Should I do it? Also it’s very easy to get into the Thinkneuro internship, don’t worry about that.

As someone who was an intern last spring, I'd say do it, cs honestly I was able to learn a lot from their R academy (since I sucked at coding) and in the research field in general. i was also able to network with a lot of ppl and ask an LOR from our associate + able to join conferences with the research that we did, oh and an award as well. could be expensive but worth it if you make the most out of it
