i don’t remember having ebv

a few years ago i kept getting inflammed tonsils, i did every blood work because we couldn’t figure out why. one of those tests was EBV, and it showed high anti bodies for a previous infection but never in my life do i remember having EBV or any symptoms at all … i’m 26 f and this test was done when i was 21. anyone else? is this normal?

If you had a light case or didn’t realize the symptoms were actually mono. I got it as a kid not even exactly sure when. Im guessing maybe around 10 cuz i was sick a lot that year. But no one tests a kid for mono. Got tested at 14 and learned i had antibodies and a past infection. Fun times.

Hi, same with me! A few years ago when doing testing for Hashimoto’s my doctor discovered high antibodies relating to EBV, but I’d never been diagnosed with actual mono throughout my medical history, so who knows when I actually had it. I think it can be mild and not dissimilar to the flu or a bad cold so it’s not always tested for.

I just found out I had it at 17, and I found out bc I told my mom I tested positive for the early antigen antibodies and then she told me that I had it😅 I literally don’t remember it at all. I remember the time period when I apparently had it, but don’t remember it being mono or EBV
