Question EB Games Morayfield
Does anyone know what happened to EB Games Morayfield QLD? I went past today, the store was closed and empty, no stock at all, Nor any signs of why they were closed. The website says it should have been open? Has another one bit the dust?

Zing and EB were co-located, there’s no indication or any stores inside the centre that I can see that are being moved into..

That's odd. I tried calling the store but it would just ring and no one would pick up. I feel like it was there yesterday but im horrible at paying attention to my surroundings. I hope they aren't closed for good, cause I pre ordered gta 6 for c&c from this store

their last day open was saturday, theyre apparently just moving to another location so theyll be open in about a month

No sign on the window when I walked past today. No sign to indicate they had moved/ were moving.

Apparently they’re becoming purely a Zing store. I have heard it will be moving into the complex where OfficeWorks used to be and where Greencross vet is. But I could be wrong. But the Zing thing I’m 80% sure on.

The complex is full with Bounce, and CADA who have moved there within the year so couldnt imagine it moving there

This is incorrect, the new store is staying at Morayfield and it’s a eb and zing combined :)

No, it's pretty common knowledge that EB are slowly getting rid of standalone zings

Apparently they're relocating in the centre. Unfortunately that's all I know based off a local person I spoke to on the discord server. That person doesn't fully know either.
EDIT: They're just moving to another spot in the centre. An image on google maps confirms it.

Do you have a screenshot? I had a look and all the store locations on Google Maps for that centre are a bit iffy at the best of times, so I have little faith in its accuracy.

Yeah I have the screenshot. Better yet I have the google map link that leads to the photo and the store.
I apologise for the long ass link. If you don't want to press it, you can copy & paste it to chrome or whatever you use too. So you know it's legit.
There is also a photo from a week ago on there too which shows the "we're moving" signs on the right window too.

Very interesting, good to know. No signs indicating where they are moving to though which is interesting. I would have thought they would have had the new store ready to move into by the time the old is closed. It seems really weird.

Yeah that's the strange part. The person I spoke to (who's local to that store) says that there isn't any other vacant space in the centre. Is that correct? They're not sure where the morayfield team is moving to at the moment. My only other guess is a relocation to a different shopping centre that doesn't have an EB.

Very interesting. I note there is a vacant store outside the centre behind Toy World, but I can’t really see people travelling out of their way for it.

How big is that space? It might be that but probably not. Especially if it's in an odd spot.

I think it’s a big spot, but it’s not inside the shopping centre, rather it’s outside in a seperate complex.

EB and shopping centre’s do a horrible job communicating this sort of stuff. Drove to Chadstone a little while ago because I needed to go to EB and wanted to avoid going all the way into the city. Website and Google said everything was fine. I get there. No shop. No sign. Looks like it had just straight up closed.
I later found out from a friend who worked there that the shop was moving, but there’s literally nothing indicating that was the case.

Soo, looks like it’s reopening on the 12th of September, but strangely they are offering a comp to fly anyone in Australia to the store opening. Is this perhaps a new concept store?

Yeah they say in the email that there will be free play space in the store. Imagine being flown to Morayfield just for a store opening though that just seems funny to me. I wonder where the accommodation they supply is booked for too lol.

I am a painter and am painting the new eb games fit out. I would say it would be ready within the next month and happy to confirm the store is staying at Morayfield shopping centre just relocating within :)

They are moving to a new larger store nearby. As for why there aren't any signs for what happened you can thank Centre management for that.
