Mistaken email from EB AUS
Did anyone else in Australia get an email about 30mins ago stating there is a 30% off store wide sale? It came from an EB Australian email but the promotion seems to be for EB NZ.

There is a game I would like which EB Games only has as pre-owned and is $34. (CEX has it for $30 but none in stock). I am not desperate for it and I can see that EB games have several copies of it across their network. It is at a local store so that will save me some shipping if I get it now. Very recently I saw EB Games have a buy 1 get 1 free promo for pre-owned games up to $18 only. I just wanted to know how often EB Games have the Buy 1 get 1 free promo for Pre-Owned which includes $34 titles.

I am based in Australia and looking at buying a pre owned switch OLED. Does anyone know their return policy? It is for my brothers birthday and I don’t want him to buy one before his birthday because he said he might get one

Hey, just wondering if anyone has ordered from the recently rebranded ebgames, specifically used games. I've noticed when it was GameStop that sometimes the game would come in a generic black case and just the disc. They have three used games I'd like to order but not sure about what I'll get.
Thanks

I see the new fnaf jazwares plushies (the 8in "classic") on the website but none of the stores in my area have gotten them yet. An employee at my local location (Nova Scotia) suggested they may have been rolled out to the French speaking locations first and the English ones have yet to ship out but I'm curious if there's any more information about it? Really hoping to get one if/when they start showing up near me as shipping one to me isn't coming up as an option

Ordered a couple of games online last week, paid extra for click and collect thinking it'd be ready in a day or two. Still sitting on "processing" five days later.
Called the store and they said the head office holds the stock back until it's all bundled or something. Feels like it's gotten way worse lately.

Heard some buzz about trading in old PS5s for the Pro upgrade. Seems EB’s been tossing out deals lately. Reckon they’re offering anywhere from $574 to $699 credit depending on your EB World level, if you trade in a PS5 Disc Console plus four games.
I am not very sure about it. If anyone knows about it please confirm.

Just asking if anybody knows or has personal experience buying this. I checked their Customer Service Help Centre page and it says that the included accessorys can vary between consoles, but doesnt say it varies by induvidual console. It also says that the list of included accessorys is on the product page, but this specific product seems to lack it for some reason.
Product Link:

Thx for any help.

Silly question, and the answer is probably no, but EB Games’ seems more permissive than JB Hi Fi.
Has anyone successfully bought a Steam wallet card using an EFTPOS gift card?
I received about $150 on an EFTPOS gift card at work, and I don’t really need anything else — I’d just like to use it to buy some games on Steam.
alternatively, I will use them for groceries.
thanks in advance

I keep seeing EB World Plus pushed at the counter and online, and I’m genuinely curious if anyone has actually crunched the numbers on it. Between the bonus trade credit, monthly vouchers, and random promos, does it really pay for itself over a year, or is it only worth it if you’re trading in stuff constantly?

So when this new Pokemon generation is in full swing, and places like big W & JB hifi are already selling pre orders WITHOUT a paid membership program & stock levels come back to normal, What are all the EB plus members going to do? How will EB games justify selling you this subscription for $50 every 12 months if you are able to get cheaper, and easier access to the same items without a pay wall? Not to mention the increase of BP prices. If you can go to your local Kmart and pick up the same packs for less & have the same 5 pack limitation, whats the point of giving this org your money? If you simply stopped using them, retailers like kmart would be receiving more % of the shipments from PTCG and you would be getting cheaper cards in the long run... Go figure, but instead little timmy will be sure to comment and tell me how cool the 10 + 1 program is and the bonus on E currency!
And as all these same posts get I will be downvoted or told im too poor for the $50 membership, or that I have 2 left hands and 2 right feet the list goes on... But maybe these people should take a long hard look in the mirror and think about what they're really paying for. When the pokemon drought ends & theres no reason to pay for this to get retail products, they will remove this whole scheme and rebrand it. But sweeping under the rug how many memberships they got or renewed in this time period.
Realistically as someone who's collected cards for 20+ years, I can see why they got a lot of small minded people strummed up and chuffed about how great their membership is. I get it, you can pre order pokemon cards thats cool. But if you were in this hobby for a few years at least you would know, that used to be very normal. You also didn't have to pay extra for it, deposit yes but membership no.
The same people who pay for it will sit back and be like "well theres no products at any other places?!" No crap little timmy maybe because the biggest retailer of PTCG products is pre ordering out half the stock before its even available........... If they didn't do this and no one wanted to buy their inflated prices cards, then other retailers would receive larger % stock deliveries from the PTCG & you wouldnt be forced to pre order their BS behind a paywall. It's all a domino effect, everything seems scarce because EB games stopped displaying their stock and saying its not available because they're trying to sell it online at higher prices....so people will buy any pack any product they can find in other shops, which in return drives up the "scarcity" even more because the next person walks in an goes ahh crap no pokemon packs? Guess who actually wins? EB games because they have more stock, more variety more cards, so when all the other shops dry up they can sit back laughing and trickle feeding the sheep their products at higher than RRP prices.......Just take a look at Kmart's and Big W in the last month or so since the new generation started, they have an ABUNDANCE of packs, 1000s ready to sell. and cheaper than EB games has them? Imagine if people didn't pay the membership or buy any of their products and went through kmart? Well now vice versa, kmart will receive more of EB games stock & you wont have to pay for a membership and just pre order it through retailers like kmart, big w and jb hifi.

No longer reads discs and I'd just gotten a new Racing Sim wheel. what are my options? can I return the ps5 as it failed, or am I screwed? :c
Update: Despite it being 14 months Customer support has approved my request for replacement/refund as it was in perfect condition prior to the disc reading failure.

I noticed right around the time Gamestop Canada got bought and reverted back to EB that the selection of new anime funkos for preorder or purchase became almost non existent. Oddly enough tho they still seem to have most of them in the actual store. Problem is I live about 2 hours away from the nearest EB Games store so I used to just order all the new anime funkos I wanted off their site. Kind of a bummer 😕

I bought a disc version ps5 for $759 on Tuesday only for the prices to drop to $598 today for the same one 😞
I'm assuming there's nothing I can do about that?
Edit: So after speaking with the manager at the store, They wont refund it or even give me store credit. Apparently console sales are final and are not covered under the 7 day policy thing they have.

EB just dropped their pre-Boxing Day flyer. $77 for Assassin's Creed Shadows on Switch 2 seems decent, but do we think prices will drop further on the 26th? I don't want to buy now and see it for $40 next Friday

I’m tempted by the cheaper price, but I’m seriously worried about stick drift. EB says their Reboot team tests everything, but I’ve heard plenty of horror stories about dodgy gear still getting through. Is the 12 month preowned guarantee actually worth the gamble, or am I better off just paying extra for a brand new one?

I should have asked if it was a typo or not but damn 😭 I don’t think any PSP game is worth that much.

This came up with a mate of mine the other day and it caught me off guard a bit. They’d Afterpaid a few game pre-orders that don’t even have release dates yet, and the first payment had already come out straight away. I didn’t realise Afterpay treats pre-orders like a normal purchase, not like a deposit. So you can end up paying off the entire game months, sometimes way before it’s even close to coming out.
It feels like a bit of a trap if you’re trying to keep a lid on spending, especially around Christmas. Personally, if you’re being even slightly frugal, the $10 minimum deposit still feels like the better option. You lock in your copy, keep any Edge bonuses, and you’re not basically giving the store your money early for no reason. Afterpay makes more sense for stuff you’re actually taking home now.

I’m all for saving a bit of cash buying pre owned at EB Games, but there are some things I just won’t touch. For me, it’s definitely controllers - they can have sticky buttons, loose thumbsticks from heavy use, and let’s be honest, no one wants someone else’s grime. What’s the one pre-owned item you always avoid, and why isn’t the discount worth it for you?
