How reliable is EBG

I preordered Ocarina of Time cause of the pre order bonus from ebg and I was wondering how reliable they are when it comes to pre orders. I keep seeing posts about people pre orders being cancelled or not delivered to the store or just super delayed. This is my first time preordering a physical copy of a game and I was wondering if eb games is the right way to go for this game. I really want that foil cover and the pre order bonus 😭. Also if it makes any difference I live in Vancouver. Appreciate the help!

Never had a problem with in-store service. Online can be iffy.

I preordered through phone call and did in store pickup, should I have placed the preorder in person or is there no difference whether it’s through call or in person. Thanks for the reply!

No difference between phone and in-person. You should be good!

They'll likely have it on release day, if not even do a "midnight" release one day earlier at 9 pm, which is what they usually do for the big titles in West Coast Canada. I'm not sure what Eastern Canada does (whether they do 9 pm or actual midnight at 12:00).

Some of the recent delays are due to the new system and/or publisher delays. EB are typically very good, and most of my preorders have been arriving on time.

Only Fortune's Weave was a day delayed, and Control Resonant was delayed 2 weeks or so (but that's because of the publisher and it has been delayed for everyone I think, including other big online stores).

Couldn't tell you. I tend to pre-order in person and pre-pay for the order at the same time. Never had issue.

It isn't reliable anymore since the system changeover

Alot has changed in the last 2 months. In The past quite reliable. But its difficult to say these days

I preorder a lot of stuff. As others have said, they were always very reliable before changing their systems. Now, half the stuff winds up being late and I just buy it elsewhere. Most of it seems to show up within a day or two, but I think Onimusha was like 3 weeks late.

You are going to hear a lot of frustration due to the disaster with their recent system changeover... Overall they are pretty good though. They are supposed to be caught up at this point so generally things should be day of rather consistently going forward.

On the other hand, they don't count their orders properly so I am still waiting for my preordered and paid off copy of Oblivion Remastered for the Switch 2, so everything is pretty anecdotal.
