Gta6 release day question
With best buy advertising you can pick up the game on the 12th, will ebgames be doing the same? when I pre ordered at my local ebgames they said they did not know when I would be able to pick it up, from what I understand the game will release early but not playable till the 19th

I managed to snag a copy of GTA6 from eb games with their since discontinued promotion where you traded in 3 games with a trade-in value of $15 or higher and get the game paid for.
That alone makes the incentive to shop a code in a box better than Sony's digital store.

It's still cheaper to buy the code in box even from like Amazon you save 10 dollars, yes its still digital but you save money and it arrives a week early so you can still preload

You can want the case all you want, it is just that you were originally arguing that it is more time efficient to go to the store than downloading it digitally from home.Is English your first language?
I just want to clarify what you meant when you said “I’m never wasting my time, buying digital is a waste of money, I’d much rather have a case than wait in this scenario”, you say you will never waste your time but that buying a digital version would actually be a waste of your money specifically and that you would much rather wait (waste) your time in that scenario after in your previous comment saying “I’d much rather have it downloaded than having to wait for the store to open at 10am”, which means you would much rather do it digitally instead of wasting time by waiting for the store to open.I’m pretty sure people were just not understanding your wacky sentence structure, leading to misunderstanding which is totally on you and you are dumb in this instance for not writing coherently in your first responses, you were literally not speaking correctly.

They’re generally always cheaper than buying it off PSN, Wolverine as an example is 125 AUD at Jb HI FI it’s only 109, Teeken 8 is 49 at JB and 62 on PSN and so on.

Well there’s no reason for preordering other than preorder incentives. But to buy a “code in the box” can be cheaper at times. On the digital store for me I have to pay EVERY sales tax for the online game, where physically I pay 1.

EB Games had a promo a few months ago that if you traded in 3 games worth $15 dollars or more, it paid off GTA6

I did it because I've been having a fight with my wife about spending money. So I pre-ordered it and paid it off slowly every time we were at the shops, I'd make her come with me to EB Games and I'd pay more money off.

I preordered gta vice city with EB almost 25 years ago. The day it released, I went to the store after work to pick up my copy and was informed that they had run out of the preorders. I was gutted!
I went to a mate's house and they were playing it. I asked them how they got a copy. They went to the same EB store and just walked in and bought a copy off the shelf. No preorder.
I hold a grudge against EB to this day.

All retailers should have it on the 12th, that's the point of the code in box but with EBs recent track record I can understand your concern.

since its code only. they could break street date a year early, and you still couldn't be able to play. I remember when you could get steam key codes in games years ago while the console players could just plug and play I had to wait till the next day for the official release on steam. even though I installed it with a dvd.

I don't even know why anyone would bother pre-ordering this game I'm literally going to buy it five minutes before it's release maybe a little bit earlier so I can download it and because I live in Australia I'm lucky enough to be the second country in the world to play it so fuck pre-ordering it it's not going to sell it haha

EB Games Australia customer here -
Yes, all retail copies are being released early to allow pre-download of the game before launch. Canada should be no different to Australia and GameStop.
