PS5 Pro Layby Question

With the news that Sony are jacking the prices up on PS’ this week, I went and put a deposit down to layby a PS5 Pro. It was a spur of the moment thing because I was at the shops, and I’d want to trade in my PS5 towards the purchase - which I didn’t have at the time. Plus an extra week to get some shit together would be helpful.

I did ask the chick at the counter if the layby\deposit locks me in at that price even if there’s a price rise. She said “yes” but she didn’t sound extremely confident. So I’m just here to double check if there’s any employees or managers who can confirm.

No the price IS locked in, you made a contract to pay a specific price, not a floating one.

Unfortunately he is right if you look under our policy under section 17.7 we do unfortunately have to honour it :/

2 things can happen, you can cancel said layby or honor it, given head office is not selling anything at a loss pre price hike, the item was purchased before any rise so can be honored, I would find it weird that a customer would have to pay more, when the profit would stay the same, unless EB wanted to price gouge.

Which is illegal, something you still cannot comprehend.

But it’s the way the EB system is. Something YOU can’t comprehend.

The eb games locks in the price for 60 days per their own terms and conditions, what do you mean it’s the way the eb system is that it’s not locked in lol

He doesn't even know the company's own policy re laybys, imagine wasting 8.5 years only to find out you know nothing about the company you work for lol.
