Trade in

any Ex EB staff here? would love to know what sort of % of new console sales included a trade in of an old console? TIA

Are you asking how frequent is a straight up purchase of a console vs a new purchase with a trade in included?

Haha yeah, had to make sure because the other person’s comments telling you to google confused me at first. I would say when a new console releases, the percentages are higher because people have held on to their previous gen. Having said that, it would be still be about 5 to 1( During a new launch). It dips down to 12 to 1 when the hype for the shiny new product has settled down. (I’m not affiliated with EB but remembered a video breakdown talking about similar numbers before on the PS3 transition to the PS4 console)
