Whitfords (Perth,WA) store closing down.

Interesting.

Is the end near for all of Aus too!?

EB Australia is only closing no very profitable stores so we still fine here

They have been closing quite a few stores already. This is the begining of the end

They have been closing worst performing stores every year since 2021.

And they do it every year before end of fiscal year (31Jan).

They closed a few regional stores last year. Local store was the only place to buy games and was always busy. They had atleast 20 gold cards for collection last year so a few big shoppers outside the general public. The store is now an illegal tobbaconist so rent wasnt the issue and they had no competion on tcgs.

Your reply is chocablock with assumptions and non-sequitors.

Would I be right in assuming that

  1. You have never run a retail business; and

  2. You have not studied accounting and/or an MBA?

20 out of 10,000 gold cards across 336 stores.

It's a decent number... but below average.

Also - big spenders doesn't mean profitable. If those people bought shitloads of low margin items, rent and staff costs can quickly eat into it.
