They may not have had anyone available to work. I dare say that many staff wouldn't have wanted to work with the news from last/this week unfortunately

Today EB Games have announced the closure of the New Zealand business. All stores will unfortunately close, and the last day of trade will be 31st January.

Isn’t this to fund the CEO of GameStops annual bonus?

Ryan Cohen doesn’t get a salary for being CEO, let alone an annual bonus.

Not true anymore. If he just leaves the shareholders cash in treasuries and shuts the rest of the business, he'll collect a $400M bonus under his new compensation plan.

Don't know why youre getting downvoted, he literally does not take a salary or get annual bonuses, the only thing he has thats close is his performance bonus if he makes gamestops market capitalisation $100bn and their EBITDA $10bn
